Gase's honest assessment Empty Gase's honest assessment

Gase said. "We played like crap in those two games. New England showed us exactly how far away we were..."

now doing something about it may be an entirely different matter, but i do love the honesty instead of the same old coach-speak about how they're "trying hard and getting better."

Remember when everybody here wanted Gase gone after 5 games? But I, 316, stuck by him all along. I, 316, urged everyone to be patient. I, 316, never wavered!

Yep, I like the honesty as well.  And I'm glad that he's not sugar-coating the Patriot losses in particular, because it's very true that we are very far from competing with them.

But, I'm still not sold on Gase.  He found a way to beat the lesser teams on our schedule - particularly the Jets and Bills - and that's great.  But the way the Phins got bitch-slapped against every good team they faced (aside from the first Steelers game) is very disturbing.  I understand that we have a flawed roster, but we just weren't competitive in any of those games and Gase had no answers.  We also needed miracles to beat crappy teams like the 49ers and Jets.  I want to see what Gase can do in year two...let's see if he can hang with the big boys.

I chalk that up to plain ol' lack of talent and depth. On paper this team was worse than the previous season. Getting this bunch of bumblers, busts and bums to 10 wins against any schedule was nothing short of monumental.

Gase won me over when he cut the twin turnstiles Thomas and Turner. And that's precisely when the team took off.

My take exactly. A fundamentally flawed roster got worse as injuries mounted. Very poor depth across the board was totally exposed.

I have to agree as well. He has to beat at least two teams with a winning record and make it to the playoff again before I am sold. Might not have to win a playoff game yet but as long as he can show us that the team is getting better than I will be sold
