Man, I miss Trace Armstrong. Been a long time since we had a clutch player like that.

Fins rallying from a 21-3 deficit to beat the Steelers in '71 AKA the Warfield highlight reel. Steelers have never worn black and white unis in any season other than this one, and only wore them part of that season.

These days, the occasional nice play is really all we have. And even then, the great plays are meaningless...see "The Miami Miracle". We sure destroyed the Pats' season with that play! Rolling Eyes

That win against the Cowboys was the highlight of my Dolphin fandom. I was crying tears of joy after that game, and I remember thinking that there was no doubt we were winning the Super Bowl that season, after beating the best. How sad is that?? Embarassed

(By "fandom", I mean when I was old enough to go to bars and actually watch the Dolphins every week. Unfortunately, I was more of a "casual fan" during the prime Marino years, simply because I had limited access to games as a New Yorker.)

Haha, I'm sure I told the story of what happened with me during that game Razz From '82-85 I was the biggest Fins homer you ever saw. Seriously. I was scared of the Raiders but honestly convinced they could take any other team and when they lost I always chalked it up to the other team getting lucky or the Fins just being flat. Also, despite living near Memphis for some reason I had no problem seeing the Fins on TV every Sunday all the way until '99 when the Oilers moved to Nashville.
