Phins versus Saints score predictions
the offense scores a few more points than they did last week, but the defense decides its their turn to collapse.

Re: Phins versus Saints score predictions
The key is going to be ball control on offense. Run Ajayi early and often, and move the chains. Keep the ball out of Brees's hands.
My guess is that Gase will be scared of Saints' stud DE Cameron Jordan, and a result we'll see a similar ultra-conservative gameplan like we saw in San Diego. That's fine with me, as long as the OL can sustain blocks for a second to allow Ajayi to go to work like in the Chargers' game. But if the running game fails, forget it.
I think this is the week where we see the crappy Miami run defense we expected. I think Mark Ingram will have a big day, shredding the Miami D. That in turn will open things up for Brees to have a 300-yard passing game. This could get ugly.
I think the Phins can keep it close for awhile IF they start off quickly. But if we see another sleepwalk effort in the first half, the game will be over by the half.
This is a winnable game for the Phins...but I just don't see it ending well. Hard to imagine the Saints scoring less than 30 against this porous defense.
I'm going with 38-24, Saints...with the Phins scoring another garbage-time TD like last week to make the final score slightly less heinous.

Re: Phins versus Saints score predictions
Last time we played the Saints we got embarrassed. Ajayi is nursing a bad knee, and our guard play seems to be much worse than last year.
I see another bad game coming, unfortunately, putting Gase to the test on whether he can turnaround the team yet again.
Saints - 35
Dolphins - 10

One more prediction: Ginn will absolutely blow us up in this game. Return TD plus a long receiving TD.
Because Cameron. And because Dolphins.

Here's another prediction: Ted Ginn's family will have just as many sacks in this game as Charles Harris.
Gotta love Dolphin first round picks...an endless source of laughter.

I think the loss to the Jests has to serve as a wakeup call. When it looks like an easy win, we're going to tank. Conversely, when all hope is lost, expect them to play well.
I see Cutler finally connecting early with Parker and Landry and the running game playing keepaway just well enough to hang on.
Dolphins 27, Saints 24

It would be funnier if it weren't so tragic.
Here's a link about the great play of Tak McKinley in ATL, drafted several slots lower than us. Sounds like he's already showing far more than Harris as a pass rusher: https://www.thefalcoholic.com/2017/9/21/16340412/the-falcons-plan-to-get-takkarist-mckinley-much-more-involved-with-vic-beasley-out-as-expected
Bills drafted TreDavious White several spots after us, yay he's NFL defensive rookie of the month! Tell me again how they're going to "tank"? Oh could we use a really good corner right now? https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2017/9/28/16381270/buffalo-bills-cornerback-tredavious-white-named-nfl-defensive-rookie-of-the-month-september
The Steelers picked up TJ Watt, who also looks like the real deal and made an immediate impact right off the bat, in week 1: https://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/2017/9/27/16374044/espns-mel-kiper-gives-praise-to-t-j-watt-and-how-he-was-wrong-about-the-steelers-top-pick-nfl-draft
While we wait, and wait, and wait for the "great athletes" we drafted to turn into something other than ordinary dog shit, other teams are getting immediate impact from rookies. These are just three (just!) drafted AFTER US in the first round that I randomly chose.
Round after round, I'm sure you'd find more and more examples.
This is not the way to build a team. If Harris is a bust, it's just another in the long list of below average drafts that are leaving us over-matched in the talent department.

Other players taken not long after Harris that are starting and contributing more than Harris at positions of need:
TE Evan Engram (Giants)
FS Jabrill Peppers (Browns)
FS Marcus Maye (Jets)
It's just the same story over and over. We draft the wrong players, and to make up for those mistakes we overpay mediocre free agents. It's an endless cycle, and it doesn't even matter who the GM or head coach is...it just keeps happening again and again.
When I look at the contracts we've handed out to veterans the last couple of years, compared to the amount of impact players we've drafted, it literally makes me sick to my stomach. The level of ineptitude in talent acquisition that this team continually shows is mind-boggling.

Oh BTW Saints 41 Fins 3. This team is far more determined to rebel against the anthem than to actually do the job they're paid millions for.

Ha! Seems like Sackseer nailed it so far. Let's hope that Harris miraculously proves us all wrong...but I won't hold my breath.
Re: Phins versus Saints score predictions
LOL! Yep, SACKSEER is feeling pretty confident. Nawrocki is rarely this wrong though, and he liked Harris a lot. Definitely premature after two games.
But I'm feeling queasy about Harris for sure.

Saints 49
Phins 17
Matt Moore makes a mid-third quarter appearance when Jay Cutler resigns after the first series of the second half and leads the team to 17 points.
