Instead, Jay Cutler tossed a disastrous interception on the first play, and Carolina scored a touchdown. The Panthers would score a TD on every second-half drive until kneeling out the game with a 45-21 blowout win.
Despite a third-straight primetime loss, and fourth embarrassing loss of the season, to drop to 4-5, the Dolphins are confident they can turn the season around.

One thing that messing up Miami is the fact that they don't have a bye week but at the same time there is no excuse for what happened yesterday. Let the season be done and let the off season begin, that sounds like regrouping to me.

What a joke. Everything's fine, this team is amazing, blah, blah, blah. Talk is cheap.

Andre Branch said. “We just have to go back to work, and it will be fixed for sure.

“Like I said, we will get it fixed. It was just another frustrating night. The coaches will figure out how to get it fixed and us players will have to execute. We just need to fix the things that need to be fixed.”

really, are you sure about that Andre? you really think the coaches are gonna figure this out?

but certainly a veteran like Pouncey is realistic.

“We’re good,” he said.

are you Mike, are you really? are you sure you're not delusional?

“I felt like we moved the ball pretty good on this football team,” center Mike Pouncey said. “This team has a really good defense. Obviously, we didn't put up enough points to win the football game. We just got to play better team football. Whenever our offense is playing good ... We've just got to play better in all three phases. If we do that, we can finally put together a good game.”

whenever the offense is playing good?!?! Mike, are you sure we're talking about the same team? while yes, the defense really sucks, i'm not sure throwing all the blame on them is going to sit well with those guys.

That first half INT was HUGE. The game was 10-7 and we had the ball. I'm thinking two minute drill, at worse get into field goal range and tie it up.

But no. We turn the ball over and gift wrap a TD for the Panthers instead. From there, as they say, the rout was on.

This is the kind of shit i was talking about......i forget what thread but i predicted that Miami would hit an all time low against this team. I was off on the Russell Shepard will kill us prediction but not wrong. If he had any kind of hands on him he would have killed us.

I have a strong feeling that Miami is going to kill it the rest of the season. And the only basis for this prediction is that Gase is trying to lower the expectations right now which incidentally i truly feel he did last year.

Cutler is a titanic loser, and he has never been any better than average-good in his entire pro career.

Agreed, but let's remember how this all happened. Tannehill got hurt in August. What were our realistic options? Kaepernick? Even if he wasn't blackballed by the league, he didn't play that great last couple of years and he would have to start learning our offense from square 1. Cutler made sense given the circumstances.

That, and QB play hasn't exactly been our achilles heel. Rather, we can't run the ball worth a damn and our defense can't get off the field. Tanny certainly would not have won the Baltimore game or the Panthers game, because with this offense he'd do no better trying to win a shoot out.

So, I hear you on Cutler, but IMO we have much bigger problems across the board on this team.

So many problems, it's hard to say which is the biggest. But QB is definitely part of the problem. It seems like Cutler can only throw short passes now. On Monday, all the passes over, say, 10 yards were hit or miss - sometimes he connected, sometimes he was wildly off target. Far too inconsistent. You can't sustain drives with an inaccurate QB.

That said, this OL is a disaster. We're getting garbage from all 5 OL spots. Hard to imagine any QB or RB having success behind this line. Of course, a QB with running ability (Kaepernick??) could probably help - but I'm not sure it would be enough.

Tunsil continues to piss me off with his lackluster play. BUST alert status still high (see what I did there).

Pouncey is done, it's obvious. You're so hurt you can't practice, yeah that's not going to lead to dominant game performances.

Bushrod and James are not even worth discussing, they need to be cut outright this offseason.

Larsen might as well keep at LG, haven't seen enough of his play to this point to know if he's worth a starting spot.

Tunsil might be the biggest disappointment on the roster. He looks weak, slow and just plain lost. Maybe a real OL coach could help, but I don't trust Gase to bring in anyone worthwhile.

Larsen is what he is...mediocre at best. He's a keeper because he's under contract and cheap, and can also play center - at worst, he's experienced depth.

Bushrod is horrible and needs to go.

Pouncey is done. Is Brendel the answer moving forward???

James is mediocre and expensive, and now he's injured. Not a good combination. Bye! We could probably live with Jesse Davis at RT next season, especially at his cheap salary.

Considering all the needs on this team, at minimum we need a RG. Next season, could we roll with LT Tunsil, LG Larsen, C Brendel, new RG, and RT Davis??? Not sure how good that will be, but at least there's the hope of upside with the young players. I don't know if we can expect this staff to do more than that given all the other holes on the roster. Who knows...Brendel and Davis could be hidden gems and maybe Tunsil wakes the fuck up?

IMO that would be a solid move to make an offensive line upgrade without breaking the bank.

Maybe we can find an average or above average RG in free agency at good value. Or, the draft could net a starter at RG and may bring us competition at C or RT.

Also, Asiata is on a "red shirt year", maybe he actually develops into a starter? Unfortunately I think he only adds depth at LG, I believe that is his natural position.

Steen can backup Brendel at Center too.

Tunsil does need to wake the fuck up. His play is just unacceptable. There's no way every scouting service on earth missed that badly on him, he has the skills he needs to put in the work and elevate is play to his potential.

Cutler's a one-year stopgap move by Gase. I just like to get my contempt out there for him when allowed the time to do so.

I don't see us as close at all.

We're nearing a 100-percent rebuild right now.

At least 4 positions on the OL need replacing.

We need a longer-term solution at TE.

Landry will probably walk, and we're going to need a quality slot receiver for this dink-and-dunk league.

Our running backs are third-string quality right now, although I do really like Drake, but he's very situational and prone to dings.

QB, we need a QB unless Tannehill comes back and becomes a winner.

So, we need most of an offense.

Now, other side of the ball.

We need another good starting DT, a MLB (hopefully that's what's his nuts that's injured), another outside LB with coverage range, a starting quality No. 1 CB, and a free safety . . . and with all honesty, I could say we need just about an entirely new defensive backfield, but, we'll just stick with the above.

So, as I said somewhere before, we're at least 2 years away, and it's going to take some nifty drafting.
