Predicting the Dolphins record
I'm going out on a limb and saying 11-5. Winners of the AFC east.
I like the moves the team has made under Hickey and think this is the most talented roster we've had since JJ.

Re: Predicting the Dolphins record
I think Hickey is little more than a figurehead at this point. This is Tannenbaum's team, and he's running the show. I think he's positioning the team for the future, but it's not there yet. Next season, I expect the Phins to make a big jump with a new coaching staff and GM.
But this season, there's way too many unresolved issues on the roster, and a weak coaching staff...so I'm going to stick with 8-8 until I see a reason to change those expectations.

I think Lazor is a top level coordinator in the NFL that has head coach written all over his resume! They said running his offense is like math class. Last year it was algebra and this year trigonometry. The offense has receiving weapons it never had before. I think that will be the biggest difference!

I'm still coming up with 8-8. We have one chance to be playoff level IMO, and that is if we take full advantage of a very favorable schedule in the first 5 games. Buffalo at home, road games are Washington, Jacksonville and Tennessee (all winnable), and Jests in London, where we normally play well. If we are at least 4-1 after the first 5, we have a chance. If not, forget it, it is brutal going schedule wise from late October on.

Based on what? Lazor's resume is spotty at best...he's been a journeyman that bounces from place to place. This Dolphins' job is the first time he's even been an NFL OC, and the results have been mixed at best so far. Under Lazor's watch last season, the Phins were one of the NFL's worst teams in several key offensive categories - including stats related to red zone, third down and fourth quarter. I am thoroughly unimpressed by Lazor and his "20-yard box" offense so far.

It does? Who? Fact is, we lost two of Tannehill's favorite targets in Mike Wallace and Charles Clay, and replaced them with players that, on paper, aren't any better and may be worse. I just don't see all these "weapons" I hear Dolfans talking about.

LOL The problem is, I haven't found the kool-aid...I'm not sure it even exists! I think Philbin poured all my kool-aid down the drain. Maybe I'll find it again when he gets kicked out of Miami...
And believe me - I absolutely am numb to this team. That's the problem - one too many kicks to the gut. I'm not ready to get up off the mat just yet.

Calling Mike Wallace one of Tannehill's favorite receivers is like saying the confederate flag is loved by the black community in South Carolina just because it was flown at the Capitol. You notice Wallace is gone and so is the flag!

Wallace was Tannehill's top target the past two seasons. I'm having a hard time guessing where Wallace's 10 TDs last season are going to come from this season.
Re: Predicting the Dolphins record
DeVante has 6-7. Jennings 7-8. Landry 6-7. TE's 6-7. RB 5-6. Other receivers 5-6. 32 total TD's passing. 8td on the ground. And 15INT. For Tannehill. 4700 yards passing with 528 on the ground. Those are my Tannehill stats

Tannehill should eclipse 30 TDs, I agree with that. I just disagree with the distribution.
Parker may not even see the field much till later in the season due to all his missed time. Rookie receivers take long to develop in most cases anyway...missing all of camp and pre-season will likely put him way behind. I'll give him 2 TDs.
Jennings hasn't scored more than 6 TDs since 2011, and I don't see that changing in Miami. I'll give him 4-5 TDs.
Landry could get 6-7, I agree with that.
Stills wasn't exactly a TD machine with one of the league's best QBs throwing to him, so I'll give him 3-4.
Maybe Matthews gets 1-2.
I don't see too many TDs coming from the TE position, but 6-7 is fair.
5-6 TDs from the RBs is also fair.
But I don't see any chance of Tannehill scoring 8 rsuhing TDs. Maybe 1-2, IMO.
Re: Predicting the Dolphins record
Ah screw it, I can't hold out any longer.
I'm looking at that 7-game stretch from the Texans to the Ravens and I honestly cannot see a single win in there. Not one. I figure surely they can beat the jags and it seems to be one of the universal laws that Rex Ryan cannot sweep the Fins so that's two wins, and I guess they can take the Titans (although the last time I thought that they lost by like 37). They'll mysteriously rise up and win at least one more that on paper they shouldn't but I just don't see more than 5 wins, and that's my best case scenario.

I could definitely see that if we don't take advantage of the favorable early schedule. Minimum of 4-1 is needed after 5 games to have any shot at anything IMO.
