UGH!!! Another Bears coach hired

According to a league source, the Dolphins hired Jeremiah Washburn as the team’s offensive line coach, allowing the assistant with 16 years of coaching experience to return to a unit he served as the assistant offensive line coach for in 2016.

Washburn left the Dolphins to become the offensive line coach in Chicago last offseason, but John Fox’s firing this past week made him a free agent.

He becomes the second former Bears assistant to join the Dolphins staff. On Wednesday the Dolphins hired Dowell Loggains as the team’s new offensive coordinator. Loggains served in the same capacity with the Bears the past two seasons. Gase worked with both Loggains and Washburn throughout his NFL career.

So we hired the guy that was assistant OL coach for our garbage line in 2016, and who coached one of the worst OLs in the league in 2017.

If you do a quick Google search, you'll see that the Bears were projected to have one of the best OLs heading into the 2017 season.  But according to Football Outsiders, the reality is that the Bears had one of the league's worst OLs...ranked 28th in run blocking and 23rd in pass protection.

You may recall that Washburn was fired by the Lions halfway through the 2015 season for orchestrating an OL that led a rushing attack ranked dead last in the NFL.

This shit is getting ridiculous.  Gase is a fraud who surrounds himself with his friends that have been completely awful everywhere they've coached.  We must have the worst coaching staff in the NFL.  I have a feeling the 2018 season is going to make 2017 look good.

There’s wide receiver coach Shawn Jefferson. There’s quarterbacks coach Bo Hardegree. There’s tight ends coach Shane Day. There’s running backs coach Danny Barrett. And that’s basically it.

Hardegree, who has been with the Dolphins two seasons and has been in the NFL four seasons, is as much a Gase project as the quarterbacks themselves.

He was hired by Gase to be the QB coach in 2016. And before that he was an offensive assistant under Gase in Chicago in 2015. And before that he was an offensive quality control coach under Gase in Denver in 2014.

Shane Day? He just finished his second season with the Dolphins as their tight ends coach.

And he has two years of NFL tight ends coach experience.

Barrett has only two years of NFL experience. (Yeah, this offensive staff is a nursery school of NFL experience).

in most cases on the Phins offense, the players have more experience at the position than do their coaches.
