Pats get the 23rd overall pick for Cooks
If Gase is trying to rip off the Pats and obtain an identity, he should take note: when they trade Pro Bowl caliber players they actually get decent value in return.

Damn...didn't see that coming. Very surprised that the Pats would trade Cooks.
But yeah...they get a 1st for Cooks and we get a 4th for Landry. Great job, Tannenbaum.

I think Hyde is reading the board. Look what pops up on the news feed roughly 9 hours after I started this thread:

Great article by Hyde - nailed it: "Bottom line: The talents of Landry and Cooks are much closer than the trade value received for them. The simple answer why is Belichick found the right trade partner in the Rams"...while the Dolphins continually get fleeced in trades. For other teams, the Dolphins are always the "right trade partner".
Kinda makes you wonder how much we could have gotten for Landry if Gase didn't whine like a little bitch and let the rest of the league know Landry was in the coach's doghouse.
Also shows how a good franchise is run. The Pats traded the #31 for Cooks and got one great season out of him. Now, before they have to pay him a fortune, they turn around and trade him for the #23 pick. We draft a guy at #63, see him set NFL records for receptions, and then trade him for #123. So Dolphins.

Great move by the Pats as usual.
The Phins....stink. At every facet of the game, at every facet of the offseason, at every facet of the draft, at having an overall cohesive, mutually support plan for the franchise....they stink.
Drunken Monkeys flinging poop. Again. Ad nauseam.
On the Pats plans, while I doubt Kraft wants to trade up for a big name rookie QB to upset his sweetheart, Brady, Belichick JUST MIGHT be interested.
I personally think Belichick is after DE Bradley Chubb. Or he stays put, picks a player or two and trades away the extra picks for more picks in NEXT YEARS Draft.
The Pats KNOW how the draft works. The Phins MIGHT know where/when the draft is taking place this year? Just maybe?

Re: Pats get the 23rd overall pick for Cooks
According to JJ's draft chart, packaging 23 and 31 gives the Pats enough fair value to move up to # 9.
With 12 and 22, Bills have 1980 points in the first round, enough to move up to 4 and have 180 in value left over if they want to package both.
Bottom line, these teams have both accumulated draft value for their assets and the Fins continue to be the "mark" for the rest of the NFL.
Eagles are Abbott, 'Fins are Costello. "You got two tens for a five?"
