I don't think I'm going to pay him any mind.
Not sure why you're paying any of them any mind to begin with. Are you going soft on us?
ALTHOUGH...trading up to grab a QB everyone else already knows will be a bust does seem fairly loserish, hmmm...

I thought the Bills had an excellent round one...probably the best night of any team IMO. I also thought the Pats did a great job. Other good teams: Packers, Chargers, Ravens

What, you're not including the Jets for getting Darnold without having to pull an obvious 2011 Colts tank job?
The Bills first round is only "excellent" if Allen turns out to be the complete opposite of what literally everyone except the Bills thinks he is. And I say this as a big fan of their maneuvering.

This is for you, Jmp. Although I suppose anyone else can read it too

I'm not including the Jets because it was the only pick they could have made...too easy! Darnold is the best QB in this class and I think he'll be great for the Jets, though I hope I'm wrong!
All the AFC East teams had great first rounds IMO.
And yes - of course the Bills draft is all about how Allen develops. If he busts, they screwed up. I don't think he will though. His talent and skillset are off the charts. Just need to work on his reads and accuracy, and it looks like he's already made big strides in both areas this offseason.

Interesting article. But, all those stats are pretty meaningless since Allen played at Wyoming. He can make throws that no one in this class can make...hell, even a lot of NFL starters can't match his ability. He'll need some time to develop, but if he puts it all together he will be great. I hope he busts, but I don't think he will. He looks to be extremely coachable and hard-working, and that's often half the battle for QBs.
If you want to dump on a QB, look no further than Mayfield...almost all of his highlights feature a clean pocket and wide-open recivers. I would hope that he could look good in those circumstances!
Like I said, I think Darnold and Allen are both going to be great. We'll see...

given the players available at the time of the selection, i think the Phins made the correct pick. i'm very pleased with getting Fitzpatrick and am hopeful this puts a playmaker in the back half of the D the likes of which the Phins haven't had in a loooong time.

Yep. Absolutely agree. My only question with Fitzpatrick is the Dolphin coaching staff. Minkah is a guy you can move around like a chess piece, and use at all DB positions. But Burke doesn't strike me as a very creative coach...I'm not sure he'll be able to get the most out of Minkah's skillset. Hopefully the new DB coach will know what to do with him. Regardless, I do love the player and if used correctly he could be a huge help to this defense.
Re: 2018 NFL Draft Thread
At first I wanted Vea or Edmonds, but after finding out more about Fitzpatrick, I am good with the pick. He is a playmaker. How long have we all been clamoring for this type of player, especially on defense? He will play the majority of snaps with today’s passing game.
Now, let’s get our TE and a DT and I’m good.
Still want Walton in 4thvor 5th rd.

The Pats continue to build their OL. They traded a 3rd to the 49ers for RT Trent Brown and a 5th. Good trade for the Pats. Brown is a behemoth and a dominant pass protector.
The Pats have two 2nd round picks tonight, which I assume they will use on defense (unless they look at WR...)

Never realized this kid was from Jersey and how many people I know know the family. I had a dozen people that know I'm a Fin's fan tell me how great this kid was in school and how great a pick it was.

If we're going to draft a developmental QB, I'd really like to take a chance on Chase Litton.
JEG, it's not the QB that we sorely need, but he's a damn good ball player. Can't go wrong with a kid from Joisey.

I'm about as soft as water that percolates through deposits of limestone and chalk which are largely made up of calcium and magnesium carbonates.
Sorry, I'm installing a filtration system.

But we already have brock- hall of fame- osweiller and scrub, clipboard holder, doughty or fales, whichever one they did not recently cut.
QB? We don't need no stinkin' QB's.
Plus tanny is poised to have a breakout year.
We're good.

The Dolphins keep using that phrase.
I do not think it means what they think it means.

Penn St TE Geiseki. I like it. Makes my toes tingle.
The next Gronk? A little early, but who knows? https://www.nfl.com/draft/tracker/picks?pick=10

Go LB or D line in the 3rd. Happy with these first 2 picks. It actually looks like we have joined the modern NFL with the athleticism of these 2. Too bad we are a few years behind the curve on this.

Love how the iggles just picked a TE just before the cowgirls pick the same day Jason Whitten retired. Brilliant. Smart FO.
