You Guys Have My Deepest Sympathies...
For putting up with this garbage all season. I only watched bits and pieces of this game here and there, and it was excruciating. I can't even imagine watching game after game after game of this for a whole season, especially since this seems to be one of their BEST performances
Seriously, how do you guys do it???

Here's the rub.
Next year, in all seriousness, it could be much worse.
In my estimation, we must become an old-school running/play action team to be competitive next year, because the defense is going to stink.

Agreed.
It looks to me like Campbell probably did not "earn" the chance to keep the job. However, the available list of candidates is.... underwhelming. It's probably a mistake to let him go unless a certain upgrade is poised for hiring, but I'm sure we'll fire him and hire a lesser coach.
We have to upgrade at GM over Hickey. I haven't seen a list of possibilities for that job, though.

Hell, THIS year it could be much worse. By rights, the Fins should have just 2 wins.
You guys ready for '07 all over again? Because that's what next season will look like.

Campbell might be a good head coach one day. But that day will not be with the Dolphins. And to be honest this franchise literally can't afford to wait 3-5 years for it to happen. And it likely wouldn't happen here anyway because being good at one's job is expressly forbidden in Finsland.

Gee, I can't imagine why Surely it can't have anything to do with Tannenbaum being around to oversee a dumpster fire of an organization, can it?

I refuse to believe that. We just can't hire the next Cam Cameron, can we?
Hell, hiring Todd Haley would suck but even Haley knows more about being a head coach than Cameron could ever learn! Say it won't happen. Just say it won't!

Okay, the Fins will definitely not be hiring Cam Cameron to be the next head coach. Happy now?
But seriously, without even knowing who the next coach will be, this team's already going to lose most of the talent that was somehow acquired by sheer accident (Matthews, Miller, Vernon, etc.) and do you really trust those guys to be replaced through the draft? The notion is literally laughable to me.

Do I look happy? I just decked out my basement earlier this year with two leather recliners and a nice sidetable with matching entertainment console, all for the pleasure of watching this bullshit team every Sunday. And ruining Thursday nights, Sunday nights, and/or Monday nights and the next morning too along the way.
Not to mention the money I'm handing DirecTV for the privilege.
I mean sure I love football and all, and yes I can tolerate a bad season here and there. But a nonstop slog through mediocrity, despair and hopelessness? One dipshit move, one bullshit hiring each worse than the less, in a never ending progression of futility?
For the Dolphins fans that are still left and following this team, damn son we've had one hell of a cross to bear. I honestly don't know what sort of person does this to themselves, but why the hell do we keep watching? What is the motivation? Where did this kind of loyalty ever come from and why?
Fuck this team. With a rusty trailer hitch.

I can;t answer that because I've never actually seen you

Oh dear lord don't tell me...you actually thought this season would be different and they really WOULD be as good as the media was saying, amirite?

TELL ME ABOUT IT!!! Do I have a story to tell you about DirecTV! Via PM. But hey, at least this month's bill is down to $108 from the usual $110 or more.

Hey, I already gave my sympathy, what more do you want from me? But this is why I asked the question a while back if this was actually worse than what teams like the Browns and Lions do on an annual basis.

With me, it's all my granddad's fault. The sad thing is, I know he's the kind of person who, if he knew how this team would turn out, would've honestly encouraged me to stay away.

Oh, you know me. Eternal optimist and all. I'm such a moron.
In all seriousness though, I was already watching the games anyway - figured I'd upgrade the furniture and enjoy it a bit. Just the irony, of walking by this nicely done arrangement and looking at the mini Dolphins helmet by the TV. It makes me laugh.

Then you did get some enjoyment out of it after all
Even I found myself actually caring last night for a minute. But the feeling soon passed. Thank God.

I cared for a while too. This loss was actually quite easy to accept, in the end. We really do need a total housecleaning, as bleak as any moves we make in the front office look. It will take a lot of losses to ensure we do make real changes.
I mean, even Ross has to get a decision right once, doesn't he? Keep rolling the dice until it happens.

Dan Cambell will be the Dolphins coach next season because nobody is going to want to come here. This is the same story for the last decade. If a coach does want to come it's because they had such a shityy record as a coach with their previous team that nobody will give them a shot
