Take Away Campbell's First Two Games...
Well, six quarters more accurately, when the players knew they had to justify the Philbin firing by actually giving a damn, and the Fins are averaging 16.5 points a game for the rest of them. Yes, that includes tonight.
How bad is that? Only one Fins team ('06) averaged fewer points through 16 games than that. Only two other teams--in the 60s--averaged fewer points per game, period.
But yeah, let's just pretend Hennehill hasn't gotten enough chances yet, or something

Re: Take Away Campbell's First Two Games...
I'm just tired of all the excuses with Tannehilll...everyone else gets blamed for the shitty offense (receivers, TEs, OL, Sherman, Lazor, Philbin, etc.) The Phins have rebuilt the OL, they've rebuilt the receiving corps, they spent big $ at TE, they've fired, hired and fired OCs...at what point do the powers that be realize that the problem just may be Ryan Tannehill???
Re: Take Away Campbell's First Two Games...
Tannehill isn't all to blame though. They may have "rebuilt" a lot of stuff, but they used rusted shitburger parts.
Cameron, the big $TE dropped a seam route pass that could have gotten us down inside the 20 on 2nd and 25.
Tannehill may not be "it" but it's not like he's surrounded by any kind of talent at all. Landry is good, Miller is good. Most of the rest of the offense isn't good.
Also, Sherman sucked, Lazor sucked, Philbin sucked, none of that is up for debate.
He doesn't come up big in big games though, so maybe, just maybe it's all these fuckers and we're not just one QB away from being a good team.
Don't delude yourself, we stink from top to bottom. This isn't a quick fix.

Great QBs make the players around them better. And yes, I used to think that was absolute garbage until I saw with my own eyes how much better the Bills were with Flutie in there than with Rob Johnson, and Flutie wasn't even that great. Just look at the Colts without Luck, they seem worse now than that season where they were tanking to pick him! Look at the Cowboys without Romo. Hell, even the Pats missed the playoffs that one season Brady was injured early. "But 316, they were still 11-5!" I can hear you think. Yeah, and that was a FIVE GAME DROPOFF from the previous regular season. That's like going from 13-3 to 8-8.

Oh hell yes, great QBs can make teams better, but terrible teams, not much better. We'd maybe end up 8-8 or 9-7 with an excellent QB this season. We stink. We lack talent in too many positions.

This roster is terrible when you consider the money spent, cap space burned, and huge, gaping holes in multiple spots. When you turn next to consider the depth.... well, Degarmo already said it. This is no quick fix.
Our problems finding good, quality starters and blue chip elite talent through the draft has more than caught up with us. It won't take years to rebuild this squad, but what it will take is a really good GM and a coaching staff aligned with his model of how to build a team.
The chances we find those ingredients are about as good as Hickey acing the 2016 draft. Tannenbaum is on the clock, he's got 2016 and 2017 to prove he can get us headed in the right direction. After that, I think even Ross shows him the door.

White1, you're a brave man venturing amongst all the carnage we wrought here last night. Hats off to ya
The Giants are dead last in passing yardage allowed. They're the only team so far to give up over 4000 yards, and no other team's given up more than 3650. The only team they've given up fewer passing yards to than the Fins is the Cowboys. With Matt Cassel at QB. By 8 yards.
Oh BTW the Fins are the only team the Giants have held scoreless in the 4th quarter all season. Yeah.

Nice audible on the long TD throw, but the guy needs competition at the very least.
Myself, I'd be willing to explore a deal for Kaepernick and drafting a young guy to compete with him. Both he and Tanny have big salaries and might need a fresh start.
Our draft picks will be needed elsewhere. We badly need help on the line of scrimmage and at CB for starters, last night made that more obvious than ever.

This team is horrible. It's hard to evaluate anything because almost all the pieces need upgrading.

As far as passing goes, last night Tannehill was accurate on 95% of his throws. 6 drops, lack of effort by the receiver on some passes. Going off last nights performance Tannehill wasn't the problem. Not saying he hasn't been in other games though. He needs competition. He needs a line, receivers thst catch, and a real play caller.

I think that they should have used a two back system as well. Miami running game was doing well in the first half but in the second half Miami just plainly sucked. With a two back system they could have had either Ajayi or Miller running the ball from either side or gave them more passing options from the backfield.
Miami WR weren't doing well at all. There were too many drops that could have lead to big plays and the secondary was horrible
