Worst #3 Overall Pick Ever???

According to PFR, the only #3 overall pick since the merger (that's 45 years BTW) with less career Approximate Value than Jordan is...Akili Smith. And Smith at least somehow was on the winning end of three games as a starting QB.

Even I, the Potentate Of Pessimism, did not think it was humanly possible for Jeff Ireland or anyone associated with even this team to screw up a pick this high to this degree. So for all of you who've been waiting for me to say this for years here it is--I was...wrong.

Someone in the comments section of Armando's blog really hammered the point home when he rightfully pointed out that Ireland could've picked any player in that draft except for two, and THIS is what he came up with.

A couple more comments...WARNING: These are not for the weak of stomach.

The year we drafted Jordan the Buffalo Bills drafted the "other" lb from Oregon. Kiko Alonzo in the 3rd round. He was a candidate for rookie of the year and this off season traded him even up for RB Shady McCoy. Just in case you guys wanted to get more upset think about that.

Had Ross SWEPT Ireland away with Sparano, we wouldn't be talking about DION JORDAN THE DOLPHIN BUST today. He would be in PHILLY BUSTING out instead. Philly was poised to take him with THEIR 4TH PICK in the 2013 draft.

Just reading those literally caused me physical pain BTW.

Yikes.  Heath Shuler, Jack Thompson and Bruce Pickens look like good values compared to Jordan!

To be fair, Trent Richardson has looked a lot worse on the field than his ranking on this list.

Richardson is awful. Jordan takes the cake, by simply earning suspension after suspension and barely seeing the field.

Richardson is awful - agreed. But - at least in his rookie season he had 12 total TDs and over 1300 total yards. That was impressive. All downhill after that, though!

Jordan has pretty much been nothing but a special teams and bench player...just a complete waste.

I'm waiting for Richardson's drinking issue to arise. I don't know why, but that's my hunch.
