Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
Wishing you and your families a healthy and happy holiday season!
Re: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
My town dodged a serious bullet yesterday, but tornadoes pretty much wrecked everywhere to the south and east of me. And there's supposed to be more of it this weekend. Not sure how happy this Christmas will be. But it still might be better than last year's, when I somehow got the flu the day before and was berated by my mom and sister for apparently ruining it for everybody else by showing up at my sister's house, then summarily sent home Christmas day. At least I'm feeling fine now.

It was 84 here in Miami as well. Even for here, it's unseasonably warm.

Re: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
There was actually a fly buzzing around at Christmas dinner. My brother in law got it though. Apparently he's great at snatching flies out of the air, which is something I never knew about him before
Sorry for being in a bit of a sour mood Friday. Lack of sleep and all that. Christmas went fine. My nephews got so many presents it took them almost four hours to open them all They were so excited the night before they didn't want to sleep, and my older nephew even set an alarm for 6 AM because we kept teasing him about how they never wake up before 9 on Christmas morning and even then we have to always go get them. We drove around the night before looking at seemingly all the Christmas light yard decorations in town, including which yard won the award for being the best (yes, there's an actual award for this) and who won the Clark Griswold award for the most over the top display (again, a real thing). I can't even imagine spending the time and effort it took some of these people to decorate their houses and yards the way they did, but I've never been a Christmas lights guy.
I got me a couple of bucket hats that I've been wanting for ages but could never actually find around here so now when I go out I don't have to wear the same few beanies anymore. At some point my cousin and her two sons came over. The way I keep track of their ages is that I'm 20 years older than the older one and my sister is 20 years older than the other. I remember when the older guy was a baby who looked like the Michelin Man and now he's like 6'3" with one of the fullest beards I've ever seen. And both of them get along great with my nephews. Speaking of which, the younger one got some sort of cart that he could steer and propel with just his feet, and he spent all day zooming around the house in circles because it was rainy outside, and I tried to help the older one build his Lego space shuttle after we had both built his Lego jet plane 2 years ago but we kept getting interrupted and didn't get to finish.
