Beer of the Day: Chimay Première Ale (Belgian Trappist Ale)

Hero of the Day: none

Goat of the Day: Jamil Douglas and Dallas Thomas

A lackluster effort by the Phins resulted in another loss, this time to a Colts team using their 2nd and 3rd string QBs.

The OL, always a weak point for the Phins, was dreadful, allowing 6 sacks and numerous QB pressures. Douglas and Thomas are easily the worst OL in the NFL, and both could make a strong case for being the worst OL ever. Both were pushed back and run over constantly today. Douglas has apparently never heard the word "leverage" before, standing straight up play after play, while Thomas has the worst hands I've ever seen on a lineman. These two players are impossibly bad, and neither one has any business being in the NFL - let alone starting. It's disgraceful that these guys are in the league, and one of the easiest ways to improve the Phins in the offseason would be to cut these two clowns.

Ryan Tannehill was under pressure all day and suffered a leg injury, but that's no excuse for throwing zero TDs against a bad defense. Tannehill looked like a deer in the headlights on a first quarter safety. Colts DL T.Y. McGill was unblocked and ran straight for Tannehill, who clearly saw the defender but made no move to avoid him or throw the ball away. Tannehill did the same thing later in the game on another sack. I don't recall ever seeing a QB so clueless in the face of pressure (well, maybe AJ Feeley or John Beck...)...it's like he has no idea what to do when a defender is coming toward him. Tannehill also threw an INT in the end zone, and followed up a Lamar Miller TD by throwing the ball directly to a Colts' DB on the ensuing 2-point try. As usual, Tannehill's numbers looked pretty (26-38 for 329 yards), but he was completely ineffective on the day. For those keeping track at home, today's game marked the third time this season that Tannehill failed to throw a TD, and he has thrown just 1 TD in an additional 3 games. So that's almost half the season where he threw 0 or 1 TD...and this is our franchise QB. Rolling Eyes

DeVante Parker made some nice plays early, and then had a bad drop and disappeared for the rest of the game. Jarvis Landry did the exact opposite...doing nothing for much of the game and then coming alive late with a couple of nice catches, including a sweet one-handed Beckham-esque grab. The other receivers were non-factors.

The defense was gashed by Colt's RB Frank Gore throughout the first half, but tightened up in the second. Reshad Jones, in particular, had a lot of trouble tackling Gore early on. Overall, the D played a decent game and kept the Phins in the game - but registering just 2 sacks and zero turnovers against backup QBs simply isn't good enough.

Poor coaching decisions played a big role in this loss. The Dolphins had two 4th and short plays in Colts' territory (one at the 2-yard line), and Coach Campbell inexplicably elected to kick FGs both times. That kind of pussy decision-making is not going to lead to a head coaching job for Campbell. Disgusting.

And that's that. Another day, another pitiful performance by the Dolphins. This season can't end soon enough.

I cannot state enough how much courage it takes you to watch entire Fins games cheers You, sir, are a better man than I. News reporters who are sent out smack dab in the middle of tornadic weather situations to tell viewers it's bad outdoors at least get paid, and you still have more guts than they do.

This is the first I've heard about Tanny being hurt. Does it seem serious?

Your bit about Campbell only confirms what I've suspected for a while now, that he wants out of Miami as badly as half the team does. And you know what? I say good for him, by wanting out he's proven to have more intelligence than Ross or anyone in the front orifice. At least we now know Campbell has a basic survival instinct.

I'm just glad that Douglas came to the Rescue on that 4th Down Play so we didn't accidentally Win yesterday, Good to see someone think of the Bigger Picture instead of Winning Meaningless Game.

Miami Herald has a Story out saying that Tannehill had Blood in His Urine this week and questioning if He should have Played Yesterday.

Also it is getting tiresome & Bush League of Grimes Wife to be critical of other players on the Team when Her Husband has Played like Crap this year, You don't see other wife's coming out and talking Shit about Her Husband.

Here is Ms Grimes rant on Twitter.  http://slicemiami.com/2015/12/27/miko-grimes-twitter-tirade-miami-dolphins/

Miko is classless but I think her husband was going to get cut after the season anyway, regardless of her antics.  He's had a fantastic, even inspiring run after going undrafted but he looks like he's at the end of the line this year.  He'll be 33 next year with a contract over $8 million.

Agree that the O-line stunk it up mightily, but then again, what is new?

There has to be a special place in Hades for Joe Philbin, whom I think is directly responsible for keeping Dallas Thomas on the Phins and giving him chance after chance, despite it being easy to see he is a terd of an O lineman.

Douglas at least has the excuse that he is a rookie playing at an important position.

The decision to not draft an OG in the second and take Phillips LOOMS LARGER AND LARGER, and definitely calls into question whomever made the decision? if Tannenbaum okayed the decision, or was behind it, it confirms what I already thought: "he is a clueless nitwit".

But then again, Ross seems to PREFER clueless nitwits, so it is no big stunner, is it?

Tannehill - Again, without a rushing attack, and without some semi protection, he is more of a hindrance to the offense than a help IMO.

Tannehill is NEVR going to be franchise.

You can win with Tannehill, but all the other pieces have to be good to very good.

And currently, most of the other pieces on the Phins are chicken feathers instead of chicken salad.

This Oline situation reminds me of some of the incredibly stupid crap O-line decisions Brainiac Wannstedt made for the Phins. How in heck NFL "professionals" go into a season with the Oline situation the Phins had/have makes me wonder if this was not "get rid of Philbin, and Rebuild next Season" plan from the start???

Otherwise, these guys are all a bunch of incredible nitwits.

Either way, the situation is frightening for Phins Phans.

Miko's just pissed that those NFL checks are about to stop rolling in, and her meal ticket will actually have to (gasp!) take a real world job like everyone else. And it's not as if she can hold one due to her bitchiness. Better hope the payments on the mansion and cars are already made...

I can MAYBE see another team signing Grimes at the vet minimum next season. If Charles Tillman could get a shot somewhere than so can he. But that's just one more NFL year and at a greatly reduced salary to boot. Miko is very scared right now.

Miko would be perfect for one of those real housewives reality series, a la Jackie Christie.
