What to do with Dion Jordan
We have a new regime in Miami and one of the issues they'll have to face is Dion Jordan: keep him or cut him?
I looked up Jordan's salary, and here's what I found on Sportrac (http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/dion-jordan/#):
If I'm reading this correctly, it seems like the Phins will save over $3 million if they cut him. If that is the case, it's a no-brainer for me: cut his ass.
If Miami does switch to a 3-4, it might be tempting to keep Jordan and see what he can do as a linebacker. But based on past history, chances are very high (pun intended) that Jordan is currently sitting on a beach somewhere, overweight, out of shape and stoned out of his mind. I don't think he gives a damn about football, and I don't think he'll ever play again.
Thoughts?

In 2016, Jordan will earn a base salary of $675,000 and a roster bonus of $2,535,313. Jordan has a cap hit of $6,202,377 while his dead money value is $2,992,064.

Prob gotta have coaches and front office meet with him. Decide on outcome after that. Such a damn waste of talent.

Btw Vance Joseph is running a 4-3 right? Or do we know that yet?

We don't know that. For most of his coaching career, he coached in a 3-4 (with the Niners and Texans). I don't know what his preference is. I find it kind of odd that the Dolphins haven't addressed this...I would think that, given the past few years of crap, they'd want to be transparent with the fanbase.

We'll probably get the dreaded "Hybrid", which in other words means, we don't know what the hell we want to do.

Not a bad time to switch we have holes everywhere and a bunch of free agents on the defensive line

Keep him and see what he can do. We have nothing to lose really. Only way for him is up.

Take him to court and see if we can recoup some money

That's the worst possible strategy. The media would create yet another, "NO player will come to this team because they hurt so and so's FEELINGS!" angle and the Players' Association would get involved, and quite honestly it seems like lately every time they fight a battle with the NFL they win.
The only shred of hope would be if the PA decides not to help Jordan because he didn't commit a crime (from a technical standpoint anyway, pretty sure there's some form of larceny involved in being paid to sit at home). But knowing this team, the players would still 'revolt" in his favor even though he's not actually doing a damn thing to contribute in any way, shape or form because players these days are insane like that.

In all reality, you pretty much have to get him to camp and offseason then just ride him like a rented mule and see if he quits or not.
Never, ever count on him to be a starter, and this is one first round pick that damn sure better EARN a 53 man roster spot. Give him nothing.
