3 years? umm, Mr. Ross, you just signed a brand new HC to a 5 year contract.

And because the Palm Beach Post publishing comments which made him appear to be a reactionary billionaire who won’t give his new head coach a chance to learn on the job, he quickly tried to walk it back.

According to Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald, “associates” of Ross said he was speaking in broad NFL terms, not specific to the coach he just hired.

Of course, that’s an easy justification when you realize you said something short-sighted about the guy you just handed a five-year contract to.

why is it every time Ross talks, he then has to clarify it later so he doesn't sound like a complete idiot? too late, he's an idiot. a little advice, Steve, just don't talk about the football team you happen to own.

That's not even the sad part. The sad part is, Ross has twice proven he won't fire the coach even after three years of failure. So he's lying on top of everything else.

After three years if we haven't made the playoffs, I will extend the coach's contract to create a lame duck situation, and fire him midway into his fourth year, the Dolphin way.

Of course he has an out for the extension this time as it's a five-year deal.

Unfortunately the NFL allowed Al Davis to keep owning the Raiders for at least a decade after he'd gone full-blown senile so we might be stuck with Ross for another 20 years Crying or Very sad

Our only hope is that his senility affects his other businesses and he goes bankrupt and is forced to sell, like Victor Kiam.
