Miami Dolphins sign ex-Colts wide receiver Griff Whalen
ADAM H. BEASLEY wrote:The Dolphins might not have a clear-cut starting running back, but now they have at least four experienced receivers.
On Friday, they signed veteran wideout Griff Whalen, a smallish, but versatile fourth-year vet previously with the Colts.
Whalen has 45 catches for 487 and three touchdowns in his career. He is expected to compete with Matt Hazel for the Dolphins No. 4 receiving job. But he also could earn a roster spot on based on his special teams ability.
Whalen returned 12 punt for 85 yards and nine kickoffs for 244 more a year ago. The Colts cut him in January after placing him on injured reserve late in the season with broken ribs.
As for the running back position, another possible target game off the board Friday when James Starks decided to re-sign with the Packers.

On the bright side, if he can play STs he's already an upgrade over Hazel. Hazel is waste of a roster space.
Gotta love how Miami keeps signing players that were injured last season.

Wasn't Whalen the idiot who snapped the ball against the Pats on that goofy 4th down play when they were just trying to draw them offsides?

Let's pretend he was, because then it would make perfect sense for this team to want him
