I noticed my Pouncey/Albert concern is on the list. I still say it's #1

It's actually a great list - nice job by Omar.

LB, OL, DB, TE and RB are all big areas of concern for me, but I'd say the most important thing on the list is:

Omar wrote:Can quarterback Ryan Tannehill develop pocket presence and make better throws in clutch situations, taking his game to the next level?

We can't have our franchise QB continue to piss the bed in big spots.  There's no more excuses - supposedly all the pieces around Tannehill are better, so it's time for him to man up and earn his salary.  I wish I could say I was confident in him, but the fact is I don't expect him to be significantly better...I think he is what he is.  I'm also not confident that Gase is a mastermind QB savior.

I also think this one is huge:

Omar wrote:Miami must fill the leadership void the Dolphins have had within the locker room for the past few seasons.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I still don't see any leaders on this roster.  That may not be an issue if the team is winning, but when things get tough it will be a factor.

And, there's one thing that isn't on Omar's list that absolutely should be:
Just how much can we expect in year one from a very young rookie head coach and a rookie defensive coordinator?

My thoughts exactly. Only the rosiest of rosy outlook fans can say they are confident in Tannehill. This is his season. He has to show consistency and clutch play. If it's just not there, we have to move on.

Yes. As Tannehill goes, so goes the team IMO.

Giving him a legitimate running game would help.

But I agree with JMP. I do not think he is ever going to be any better than mediocre, mainly due to a terrible inconsistency he continues to display.

The leadership void was bad when Philbin got here, and then he set out to get rid of anyone who displayed any hint of questioning him or confronting him. It has just gotten worse IMHO. Counting on SUH to be a leader is like counting on DF316 for a cheery optimistic Dolphins report; ain't gonna happen.

For all that, I am cannot shake the feeling the defense is going to "shat the bed" big time this season.

Hope I am wrong, but....this has the makings for a bad Bad BAD Defensive season IMO.

Unless some of the newbies turn out to be something unexpected.

Yes we have to hope for some sort of near miraculous occurrence to save the season.

Tannehill isn't going to elevate anyone's play. He's Steve Deberg. He'll be "fine" in the NFL for 10-12 more years. Yes, I've given up.

Sorry about that guys I was half asleep because my daughter didn't want to go to bed. But Tannehill hasn't proven to anyone that he is a leader and for the fact that this will be the first year for someone to have enough confidence in him to run the offense says a lot. I have him pegged as a good backup in the NFL more like a Matt Moore role.

I don't know that I'd put Tannehill in backup status. He is a legit NFL starter. But, he's not a leader and he's not a winner. I've said it before, but Tannehill to me has a very clear ceiling - and that's Alex Smith. Smith is a solid starter that can lead his team to winning seasons and maybe get to the playoffs, but you're never winning a Super Bowl with him. I think Tannehill has the ability to get to that level some day, which is fine...that's better than a lot of QBs in this watered-down NFL. But if you want to win a Super Bowl, keep looking.
