Coming off the bench VS the Saints. The next week he would start agasinst the Colts, get injured, and that would be his final game.

BTW you MUST watch this until the very end. Even I had no idea just how crazy it was.

Watching this game makes you realize how small these guys look on defense compared to what You see now.

Some of the names from the past: Delvin Williams, Larry Gordon RIP, Bokamper, Ronnie Lee brings back memories. Another one I forgot was Steve Howell, RB . Never amounted to much, but it showed hat Shula always had a thing for white running backs. Going back to his Baltimore days: Tom Matte, Nottingham, Bulaich, Zonk, Rob Konrad.

I remember this game. Great to see it is on YouTube!

BTW, that was Miami's third consecutive fourth quarter come from behind win at the time and boosted us to 3-1: We were down 16-7 to Cincy, but Shula called an onsides free kick after the safety that put us down 16, we recovered, and Don Strock led the late comeback with 10 points in the 4th to pull out a 17-16 win.

Then, against Atlanta (12-4 that year), Strock got the start but faltered in that role, and we were down 17-3 in the 4th. Griese led a 17 point comeback for a 20-17 win.

Then, with neither Griese nor Strock looking good as starters, Shula started Woodley in this game. Griese led his second double digit fourth quarter comeback in a row and got his starting job back.

Griese was near the end but still able to pull these games out late. If it is possible for a Hall of Famer to be underrated, he is IMO.

Jimmy Johnson drafted Konrad.

I watched the very first Marino VS Montana game in the wee hours, back in '83 at Candlestick. That'll be the next game I put up, and then I'll look for the Browns playoff win again. Got to pass the time somehow now that the Jones drama is over.

Yeah,

I kinda thought that. But Shula always did have a thing for white Rb's.

IMO that stretch of games in '80 is as good a case as any for Griese to be in the HOF, along with his '77 season. He was far from a mere Alex Smith-style game manager.

It's not size as much as the body composition. 180-240 pound players today are far more muscular. Linemen are just bigger everywhere, especially the waistline.
