What If???

Post by DolFan 316 on Sun Oct 16, 2016 6:56 pm

To take a page out of White1's book, what if this win turned out to be the springboard for a surprise playoff run? The Chiefs made it after starting 1-5 just last season so why can't this team do it? Especially since every AFC team not named the Pats looks mediocre? Imagine the storyline if this actually happened right after ditching the Desultory Duo of Thomas and Turner? You CANNOT tell me Ajayi going off and no sacks allowed is a mere coincidence.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Okay, back to reality. This was no doubt one of those isolated meaningless wins the Fins are notorious for on the way to yet another 6-8 win season, and will no doubt result in Ross not making any changes whatsoever. But I figured since you guys have entertained me so much lately that I'd return the favor by giving you a good Laughing

If Miami goes on a playoff run and actually make it, there goes our theory of Tannehill being traded.

He wasn't being traded regardless, since the only other options are Moore and Doughty. Also, even Gase has to at least make a show of pretending Tanny's a star QB in the making with just a little more time.

But maybe, just maybe, this weird actually holding players accountable thing is working.

Don't get too excited...the way the Bills are playing, they could and should trounce the Phins next week - again.

If any kind of run is going to start (HIGHLY doubtful), it will have to start with wins against the Bills AND Jests in Miami the next two games. If we are 4-4 and 2-1 in the division, chance. If we are 3-5 and 1-2 in the division, having lost a home game to either the Bills or Jests, no chance.

Factor in as well that we have 5 road games in our final 8, so, it'd be pretty damn tough.

Besides beating the Pats (without Jimmy Garoppolo) and the Cardinals, the Bills haven't really won against anybody. They lost to the Jets and the Raven who are actually doing pretty bad at the moment.

Lets not forget that the Jets are doing about as bad as Miami right now as well. The Jets schedule is harder than everyone but at the same time They are still 1-4, maybe 1-5 after tonight.

Stupid penalties and making the right plays. Also getting the running game going again might give Miami a chance to win

Hard to say anythiing bad about the Bills when they have won 4 in a row and are absoluely dominating opponents with their running game.  They shut out the Patiots in New England, which is a monumental accomplishment.  Sure, they've beaten bad teams too - but lets not forget that the Phins got blown out by a bad team (Titans) and should have lost to an even worse team (Browns), and were also blown out by a team that isn't bad but also isn't very good (Bengals).

Bottom line - right now the Bills are a much better team than the Phins.  The Bills are also very physical, while the Phins are still very soft.  This may be the Dolphins toughest opponent so far.

Totally agree. Ready or not, the Fins are facing a season in the balance and it's only mid October. If they want to take control and get back in the AFC race they have to win the next two. Beat your division opponents, or forget about being relevant.

Agreed. They are a bad matchup for this squad and have shown clearly over the past couple seasons what they can do to our team when they play well.

If Gase wants to change some opinions about him and this team, a victory over the Bills goes a long way to that goal. A defeat leads the fans to conclude it's just more of the same, a couple wins here and there but we can't win the games we really need to win.

Depends on which team shows up for the Phins IMHO.

If the defense can slow the rush down and not let Taylor have wide open receivers that me or DF316 could throw to, and the Oline does not collapse and gives Tannehill the inordinate amount of time he needs to find a receiver.... The Phins have a shot.

But I suspect the Bills to just out physical the Phins.
