Warmsley cut

Post by mercury22nathan on Thu Oct 27, 2016 9:37 am

...the Dolphins cut one of their 11 defensive linemen Wednesday, parting ways with defensive tackle Julius Warmsley.

The writing might have been on the wall for Warmsley after he was inactive the last two weeks. Newcomer Leon Orr had supplanted him on the depth chart.

Plus Earl Mitchell is nearing his return from a calf injury that landed him on injured reserve. The Dolphins are expected to designate him to return.

i guess he was the odd man out. he seemed to play decent in the preseason, but was more of a developmental prospect who didn't make an impact. perhaps he'll get re-signed to the practice squad.

IMO, Earl Mitchell is trash and they should have cut him.

We have a ton of bodies at DT that just aren't worth a damn. Need to clean house at that position and start fresh next to Suh.

I'm not sure why there are so many DTs on the roster.  Seems like we should be adding more DBs...although that may happen as guys get healthy and the new guys learn the defense.

I have to agree. Miami doesn't need to have all those DT if they are thin in other area.

To me, it looks like they are desperately looking for a keeper to play next to Suh, and totally failing in the attempt. Throwing a bunch of players against the wall and see if something sticks.

I hope Grier has an eye for talent, because Tannenbaum wanted Phillips and he looks like a total bust. Plus we drafted him high in the 2nd round, what a waste.

A guy like Soliai in the 4th round is worlds above anyone we've added trying to benefit from Suh constantly getting double teamed.
