Nothing special, but about the best we could hope for at this point in the season. At least he has playoff experience as a starter, if we need him.

Yates was good in college but couldn't make that transition into the NFL.

Yep. He's also coming back from a torn ACL.

I'd qualify it: good pickup for this time of year.  The good news is, Yates has experience - including two playoff starts, with one win.  The bad news is, he kinda sucks.

Not sure how well of a pickup this is. I was a strong advocate for Yates when he came out but at the same time he didn't do well with Texans. I might be capable as a backup but Miami will need to find another one.
