10-5 the turning point
Years of complete and utter failure have left me battered and beaten as a Dolphins fan. I have avoided reserving Sundays for my fandom, like I used to. I became conditioned to lose. Dare I believe again?
I have asked, just today, for a new Dolphins jersey. I feel different about Miami. I feel like we are on the right path with the right coach.
Merry Christmas everyone!

it is weird isn't it. Miami on the verge to the playoffs and even though I hate that Miami's fate is with a Bronco loss but at the same time Miami is 10-5 and Santa gave every Dolphin's fan a surprised gift.
Merry Christmas to all

For me, it's believing in Gase. I think he may be as smart as he was billed as being. What shifted that entire thing for me was when he changed up everything in Week 6. Real coaches make substantive changes with positive effects.

Agreed 100%.
No more of dumb-butt Philbin telling us all how good Dallas Thomas was playing when it was obvious he was a supreme TERD!
No more of dingbat Sparano micro-managing the crapola out of the details but completely missing he big picture.
I am going to hold off, because we have seen some HCs come in and do good things with another regime's players, Sparano with Cam-Mueller's woebegone team, and let's not forget Dave "Dumb as Heck in personnel matters" Wannstedt, who had an AFC East winner when he took over, and steadily turned it into a soggy shyte sammich with excessively STEWPID personnel move after ludicrous personnel move!
Gase is doing a bangup job no doubt, and with a defense that sucks ditch water thru a crazy straw!
My only fear is the Dolphins decades long dismal epic fail rears it's head YET AGAIN.....Personnel.
I have been AFRAID Mike "Ain't I Clever" Tannebaum is going to hump the desiccated remains of the long dead POOCH, and do something astronomically stupid that KILLS the team.
Now that the Phins seem to have a HC that the players have PHAITH in, all it will take is Tannenbaum drafting or trading for a few chemistry-killing TERD-BOMBS to destroy the team.
And Tannenbaum may think the Phins are close enough that he can risk it all for next year!
Such is the state of my Phins Phaith; I expect them to fail. I have been pleasantly surprised by this season. But the spectre of doom still lurks in the front office IMHO.
But I am thinking the time is coming when Gase is going to have enough clout to be able to tell Ross, "Look Steve....I love coaching in Miami, but Mike Tannebaum scares the bejeebers out of me. I want final say-so on all personnel moves. Or I may have to go elsewhere."
Maybe...just maybe...Gase is the real deal. He certainly has done something with this bunch of Phins I would never have thought possible; he has made them BELIEVE they can win.
And that is a GIGANTIC part of coaching IMO.

This right here had me cracking up.

I'm with you, brother.

Completely disagree with all the Tannembaum bashers. Damn nice job this year. We all knew it was impossible to fill all the holes in one year but yet this team is in the playoffs. Those of you who wanted playmakers, Tannembaum got you playmakers. The trade with Philly? It's pretty obvious even at 8 we take Tunsil so regardless of how you feel about Maxwell and Kiko the trade was a win. The players we let go? Looking pretty smart right now. The cap? Money out the ass next year.

Re: 10-5 the turning point
I'm giving more credit to the coaches than I am Tannenbaum. This roster is crap, especially on defense. Gase and his staff have essentially made chicken salad out of chicken shit. Between the OL and the back 7 of the defense, it's a miracle we even won 5 games, let alone 10. That's a testament to the schemes these coaches have put in place, and the culture they've established.
Let's face it - we are fortunate that in the AFC the only dominant teams are the Pats and Chiefs...every other team is very flawed.

Re: 10-5 the turning point
I think the thing that made me like Gase is that he benched the players that were doing bad or needed a timeout. He definitely changed the way that Ajayi and Maxwell played this season and made them into better players. I'm not fully sold on Maxwell and still think they need to replace him. But he has definitely gotten better.

Re: 10-5 the turning point
Obviously the 2015 draft looks much better this year. Parker has become more productive under Gase, Phillips and McCain are getting substantial time, Ajayi is looking like an Alfred Morris/Arian Foster-type steal in the fifth round and Lippett is looking like another steal in the same round now. Obviously Douglas was a complete bust and Thompson didn't get out of TC, but that is really looking like a great draft now.
Probably another product of the coaching change, but still looking much better after year two. Hopefully this year's draft does the same next year.

I don't even know how we have enough players to start a team. I've never seen a team with so many banged up and lost players. One IR after the other.
