looking at the secondary in the draft.
Miami has a whole lot of issue on the defensive side of the ball and at with the OL. I can't imagine Miami not looking for these positions in the draft.

Yep. Back seven needs the bulk of the attention.

Re: looking at the secondary in the draft.
I would argue we actually need to fortify in the trenches first. We got pushed around yesterday on both sides of the ball, and it starts up front.
On the offensive line, we need at least one, if not two starting guards. Bushrod is a stop-gap, and I have been reading that his play has fallen off, probably because he's old. Tunsil will move to LT if not now, then most likely in 2018. Plus, one of the guards we bring in has to be able to play center, because odds are Pouncey will miss at least a few games due to injury.
On the defensive line, we have very little outside Wake and Suh. I'd look for BPA on the line in the draft, either edge rusher or defensive tackle. Priority likely to pass rusher, because Phillips has flashed at times and could continue to develop. It's not that he can't do it, he needs consistency. He has talent.
IAQ came in with an injury history (I think), so we definitely need a safety to start next to Jones. Given the length of the list with our "needs", cornerback is a "want". Worse case, if other positions on defense are shored up, we will be fine with Maxwell, Howard, McCain and Lippett.
I'd get two new linebackers, and one of them would be a MLB so I can move Alonso to OLB. We need depth here also, it's easily the weakest unit on the team.
Martellus Bennett is my free agency priority. Do what it takes to get him to Miami. With Bennett, Sims and Gray we have three nice TEs and some blocking power in the running game. Position solved. Plus, you take him from NE and make them weaker.
At this point in time, I am thinking we re-sign Stills. Maybe with a contract that will run one year past when Parker hits free agency, or use some kind of roster bonus that gives the team an option in that year. We are going to have to pay Landry. With his heart, toughness and the chemistry with Tannehill, he's a guy we have to keep long term. It also sends the wrong message to the team if you have a player that emulates exactly what you want, and then you let them walk in free agency. So, I'm thinking you can't pay Stills, Parker and Landry all at the same time. Push the decision on Parker vs Stills down the road until we see what Parker becomes. Stills has earned a spot with his play this year, he has been phenomenal.

Re: looking at the secondary in the draft.
I would completely re-do the OL. Bushrod is a waste, James is below-average, Pouncey is always hurt, and Tunsil simply is not a guard.
I like Branden Albert, but even if you ignore his injury history the biggest issue with him is that he is stunting Tunsil's growth. Tunsil needs to play LT - period. If that means cutting Albert, so be it. Take the cap hit and put your young stud lineman at his natural position. Get two new starting guards (one in free agency, one in the draft), and bring in a center that can replace Pouncey sooner rather than later. I guess you keep James for now since he has one more deal on his contract, but keep an eye out for his eventual replacement.
DL is a mess too...need to upgrade DE and DT.
LB is a disaster. Cut Misi, don't re-sign Jenkins. Get a legit MLB and at least one other starter. It won't happen, but I'd dump Alonso too - the more I see of him, the more I think he sucks. I know the coaches love him and some fans think he's great for some reason, but I think he's a liability out there. He's a JAG that makes 1-2 big plays a year...that's all.
DB...damn, do we need a legit safety to pair with Jones. And it ain't IAQ. And I am now convinced we need another starting corner. I think Howard is fine on one side, but IMO Maxwell will get cut and we can't go into another season with Lippett as a starter. He can't cover anyone but mediocre receivers.
Stills - yes, re-sign him. He's our biggest playmaker at receiver.
Martellus Bennett would be great...but I don't see any way he gets out of New England. They won't let him walk IMO, not with Gronk's injury history.

Re: looking at the secondary in the draft.
If you really examine the amount of players we need, this will be a miracle to fix all our issues. Best case is to fix the O-line and find 2 lbs and 2 secondary guys, and that's a tall order.

I don't have time or the desire to post the list of available free agents but if you study it closely you'll realize you could build a very good defense via free agency if we switched to the 3-4. Then you could focus solely on offense for the draft.

That would be quite an interesting approach.
If Joseph does leave for Denver, and Wade Phillips shakes loose, then here is another Ross opportunity to make a big splash. Get one of the best defensive minds in the league here in Miami to pair with Gase offense. That kind of move can lay the foundation for many successful years to come.

Wade Phillips is 69. How many more years does he have left? Maybe, 2 or 3 to build it up, but not much after that. He would have to groom his replacement.

Yep, that would be the idea. Build the defensive scheme, and groom Wade's replacement.
Sounds like the Phins are set to promote LB coach Matt Burke anyway, so the Wade Phillips thing is nothing more than wishful thinking on my part!
