FA available at the end of the year
No matter how we see it or how we like it, Miami will be picking up players in the FA. The thing is who do they go after that will make Miami into a playoff caliber team

Most of the top FAs will remain with their own team, of course, but it will be really interesting to see who is actually available. There's a few very intriguing names at the top of the guard list...

Personally, I'd love to see us get a top guard. I think that move would take our line to the next level, especially if a RG. Albert - Tunsil - Pouncey - RG - James can open up a hell of a running game for us, sign me up.
If he can swing over to C that would be a great depth improvement also.

I really don't want to see Tunsil at guard again. It's a waste of his talent, and he's just not a very good guard. He needs to be a left tackle. I'd either cut Albert, or move him to RT...whatever it takes to get Tunsil at his true position. That would leave us with two guard positions to fill...I'd grab a LG in free agency and RG in the draft. Urbik could compete with the rookie for the starting RG spot.

I see your point, and I would love it were the position to play out as you describe. More likely, Albert would be released in this scenario. Why keep him at RT with his salary, plus we have James there?
I'm trying to predict what the team will do, and realistically what I think they should do in situations like this. I'm seeing so many glaring needs on the team, juggling the offensive line and creating another hole to fill (LG in your proposal), seems like it could wait one season to me. Our defense has more holes already than we can hope to capably fill in one offseason, my tendency would be to keep the offense as intact as possible.
Albert plays one more year at best, why not use this season to prioritize elsewhere and especially on defense, and make this the plan for 2018?
My thinking extends to Stills also. It's realistic to keep him without totally busting the salary cap, so let's do it. It takes planning and year to year cap management, it doesn't take any kind of mythical lost art.
For that matter, Michael Thomas is also due to get something like a 2.8 million tender to keep him. Given that he can capably backup at safety, and is a key starter on special teams, that doesn't sound like a lot of money to me. The guy is providing value at multiple positions, best to keep him and toss someone else aside instead.

I expect Gase to want some changes on the O line.
I don't know if he wants Albert back or not.
I am wondering if they want to jettison Pouncey?
I like Thomas. They should keep him.
There could be some big changes on the team.

Yes, we could wait till 2018 to fully address the OL...after all, James will probably be gone after 2017 unless the Phins elect to exercise his 5th year option (which I think is highly unlikely.) But I don't like James, so I'd move him to the bench if Albert moves to RT - that's an easy way to improve the line, assuming Albert can play RT. James would likely be back in the starting lineup soon enough with Albert's injury history! I just think it's a mistake to continue to play your #1 pick (Tunsil) out of position. It's not good for the line, and it's not good for Tunsil's development.
I think Michael Thomas sucks at safety, and I wouldn't pay him $2.8 million to be a backup and special teamer.
Re: FA available at the end of the year
If we are going to roll with Albert for next season, we have to understand he will only play 10 games, max. I'm just not comfortable with that scenario at all.
The question also is, can we expect a full season out of Pouncey as well? If he's going to be chronically injured, then we have to replace him. Chronically injured players are roster space wasters.
