UPDATE: Phins sign veteran DT CJ Mosley
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/06/09/c-j-mosley-visited-dolphins-on-tuesday/
Mosley is a former Jet as well...I think Tannebaum brought him in. He's a decent DT...older, but can be a valuable part of a rotation. Not necessarily a need, but he'd be better than AJ Francis or Anthony Johnson IMO.
BUT...
Like some of the comments on the article say, why are we continuing to look at building the already-strong DT position while ignoring the biggest problem area on the team: offensive gaurd! I know there's no All Pro guards sitting at home waiting for the Phins to call, but damn, I think we have to do something with the position. The vets we signed this offseason are garbage, and we've got a rookie and Dallas Thomas competing for LG and an inexperienced and raw Billy Turner at RG. Hopefully some vets get cut soon and the Phins can pounce on one or two of 'em...we need a contingnecy plan if these young guys wet the bed.
If Mosley lands in Miami, he’ll run into a familiar face at the team’s defensive line meetings. He spent the last two years with Ndamukong Suh in Detroit and spent a lot of time alongside Suh in 2014 after Nick Fairley’s knee injury bumped Mosley into a bigger role with the team. His jump in playing time came after a brief team suspension after marijuana was found in Mosley’s London hotel room after the fire alarm was disconnected.

Looks like the Phins have offered Mosley a contract. His agent said that other teams have shown interest, and he'd like to make a decision this week. I hope we get him...like I said, not really a need, but it will upgrade the depth at DT.

Apparently C.J. Mosley didn’t need long to think about it.
The veteran defensive tackle has agreed to a one-year deal with the Dolphins, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Yep. Nice to have another veteran run stuffer, because as we saw last year that's not Mitchell's strongest area (to say the least).
Re: UPDATE: Phins sign veteran DT CJ Mosley
I think it's a good signing for us. We need to anchor the D line due to shortcomings at LB .
I agree that OG is a priority, Mathis is still out there being shopped but I don't know of health or even money maybe an issue

Just because we signed a vet D tackle, does not mean we can not sign a vet OG.I like the signing. You can never have enough D linemen. Rotate, rotate, rotate.Wear'em, down.

I want an OG too but what's out there other then Mathis. Probably wants to get paid too. Not a good sign for the Dolphins.

Re: UPDATE: Phins sign veteran DT CJ Mosley
Glad to see another quality DT brought in after the late season run defense swoon last year. A good solid signing.
However, I still don't think we can go into this season with what we have at OG. If I'm in charge, I'm trying to sign Justin Blalock as a similar veteran for the other side of the line. There's no margin for error at OG right now.

Absolutely. My point was, the Phins don't seem to care about the guard position where they have nothing but uncertainty, but they have no problem adding another player to an already-strong group of DTs. Just seems strange to me.
Re: UPDATE: Phins sign veteran DT CJ Mosley
Now is not the time to look for guards. They quality guards won't be realeased until July, if any are realeased. Plus the coaching staff won't really know just how bad the OL is until the pads come on.
As for DT, you can never have enough quality DT's. I'm pretty sure Mosley got the vet minimum. Pretty good deal IMHO. Also I wonder if Suh lobbied hard for this move. They were pretty good together last year.

I can see how Suh would do this. IMO, I think this is a Tannebaum move all the way
