Damn, this really sucks. Missing all of camp and preseason could hurt Parker's development and could mean that he doesn't play much early in the season.
Signing Jennings looks even better right now...
Dolphins rookie wide receiver DeVante Parker, who has dazzled so far in offseason workouts, had foot surgery today, according to a NFL source, and should be ready to play the Sept. 13 opener at Washington.

Doesn't sound like new injury for DeVante Parker. Replacing screw in his foot. He broke it last year, recovered to play 2nd half of season

Bad news for #Dolphins with DeVante Parker out w/foot surgery. Team hopefully he's back for opener. Could miss valuable camp, preseason time

Just fuck me.
This wouldn't be any kind of a big deal at all if he wasn't a rookie and having to learn a new offense, get timing with a QB.
You couldn't be more right about the Jennings signing, JMP.

Yep, that's exactly what the issues are - learning the system and developing chemistry with Tannehill. Missing three months is AWFUL...especially with a coaching staff that is hesitant to use rookies that don't know the system backward and forward.

Armando said he could play this week if it was regular season, Just replacing the screw should be good to go for training camp which is 50 days away.

It's not a big deal. Just precautionary.

I'm only concerned with how much actual training camp time he gets. It's crucial for a rookie WR to mesh with his QB.

Sounds like a big deal to me if it's an injury he sustained last year and it's still giving him trouble, and could cause him to miss all of training camp and pre-season. A WR with a bad wheel is never a good thing, and the same foot having problems two years in a row is cause for concern IMO.

As long as he is not out with a ACL injury

Good News is Tanny supporters get another excuse for when he misses a wide open Parker with horrible throws. No chemistry because he missed pre-season.

Still unclear how much time Parker will miss, but depending on the nature of the surgery it could be awhile...

http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2015/06/07/eight-week-timetable-for-devante-parkers-return-from-surgery-might-be-optimistic/
Parker had foot surgery on Friday and is expected to miss the rest of June practices and training camp.
When exactly he’ll return is undetermined.
Parker’s agent Jimmy Gould told USA Today on Friday that Parker felt pain in his foot on Thursday and both he and the Dolphins agreed to address the injury now.
He said they replaced a screw inserted last year to repair the broken fifth metatarsal that forced him to miss the first seven games last season at Louisville.
Gould said Parker faces an eight-week recovery, which would put him back on the practice field early in the preseason.
David Chao, an orthopedic surgeon and former NFL team physician, told the Palm Beach Post that replacing a smaller screw with a larger one in a previously broken foot is not uncommon.
He said the Dolphins likely performed the surgery now to avoid a lingering issue that could cost Parker regular season games.
...
But Chao said the eight-week recovery timetable that Parker’s agent provided could be optimistic, especially if he had a bone graft, which replaces missing bone in order to repair a fracture.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Parker required a bone graft.
“Are they bone grafting him? If they are, that’s going to be longer than eight weeks,” Chao said. “If they’re just putting in a slightly bigger screw, you’ve got a chance at eight weeks, but I don’t know if it’s a guarantee.”
Jones had a bone graft procedure in 2013. Robert Anderson, the doctor who performed his surgery, performed a recent study looking at 21 elite athletes — including 12 football players — who had surgery to replace a previous screw with a larger one. All 21 of those players also underwent a bone graft procedure.
They all made a full recovery, and only one player suffered a refracture, and that was in a car accident.
The average player returned to action in 12.3 weeks, with a range of six-to-16 weeks.
A 12-week recovery means Parker would return just as the Dolphins are opening up the regular season in Washington.

What blows my mind is where did this PPP up and catch them at a precautionary stage. IMHO where was the pre caution after the draft and getting him this surgery! Missing OTA is far better then mission camp!

From what it sounds like he will be missing camp as well and just be around for preseason opener maybe.
