Re: Armando
Yeah, good write up and he raises some great points.
Mistakes are made and never corrected. Not good.

I've been saying for years that Armando's as much a fan as any of us. It's not just a job for him, he gets genuinely upset when the team sucks.

Re: Armando
Great article. Every time I watch a game I wonder what the coaches did in practice leading up to the game, because each week the team looks completely unprepared.
And let's not forget - despite the 10-6 record, we saw a lot of this same stuff last season. Yeah, we got lucky and beat a few bad teams with late-game heroics, but that doesn't mask the fact that in most games last season, this team played like garbage for 3 quarters before making lucky 4th quarter comebacks. I don't think this current team is playing all that much worse than last season...it's just that last season, we had a lot of good luck and this season we have a lot of bad luck. I'm essentially seeing the same problems as last season, but it's magnified because we've actually gotten worse at several positions (QB, OL, LB).
But yeah, this coaching staff has been bad since day one, and it's only getting worse.

Re: Armando
...the Dolphins moved Alonso from the middle, where he had a good season in 2016.
He loved playing in the middle. He played better in the middle last year than he has this year outside. He told the team, through his agent, he didn’t want to play anywhere but in the middle.
so Miami felt Alonso's 2016 performance at MLB deserved a contract extension and pay raise, but then decided to move him to a position where he is clearly less effective. if they were happy enough to pay him based on his performance in the middle, why move him? and if they weren't satisfied enough with his performance in middle such that a move outside was necessary, then why pay him more?

The Alonso extension is one of the stupidest offseason moves I can think of. There was absolutely no reason to extend him...they could have had him play this season on his tender (I think it was $1.8 million???) and then in the coming offseason they could have figured out what to do with him. A $29 million contract with $16 million guaranteed should NEVER have been imagined, let alone actually given. It's mind-boggling, especially whne you consider that he basically sucked last year aside from 2 or 3 'splash' plays.
And even worse, his cap hit next season is $9.65 million, with a dead cap hit of over $13 million if he's cut.
Re: Armando
Yeah but if they did not re-sign kiko, his play may have dropped. He may have been upset all year about not getting his contract that it could have carried over to the on-field performance. He could have missed a lot of tackles this year. He could have also been unable to cover tight ends, for the most part this year because he was upset and preoccupied about not getting paid. Sure is a good thing they spent all that money on him.

Re: Armando
If you resign a guy to start, you don't change his position, because that means you didn't think he was good enough at that position. It's really not difficult to use logic, yet it still eludes this team.
