Singer-songwriter Tom Petty was hospitalized Sunday night after he was found unconscious and in full cardiac arrest in his Malibu home, TMZ reports.

Law enforcement sources told the outlet that Petty was taken to the UCLA Santa Monica Hospital, and he was reportedly put "on life support."

TMZ has since reported that Petty had "no brain activity" when he got to the hospital, and that "a decision was made to pull life support."

The 66-year-old singer, famous for his music with Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, wrapped a long tour at the end of September.

Another rough one. This one kind of blindsided me . . . not that I'm expecting people to live forever, but I thought he'd go on for awhile longer. I mean, they just finished a huge tour.

One of the best concerts I saw during the 80s was his Southern Accents tour in July 1985. Just a really memorable evening. RIP

Wow, that must have been incredible. Unfortunately I never got to see Petty.
