Re: It's official: Wake is out for the season
A sad day, one of my favorite players since he emerged as a pass rush specialist many years ago.
I believe this is the end of his career, possibly. Almost certainly we won't see him in Miami again.
The bright side here, IMO, is with the horrid depth on defense the line is the place we can actually best afford a loss. We lose a starting LB or Reshad Jones or Grimes, we are so, so screwed.
Shelby/McCain will be a dropoff, but they are both good solid players.

Yeah, you could tell right away from the replay.
I agree with you, White, I think this may be the end of the road for him, at least in Miami.

At least Wake did manage to reach 2nd on the Fins' all-time sack list with his recent surge after Philbin left, so there's that. And yes, this includes the "unofficial" career sack stats of guys like Stanfill, Betters, etc.

He's been pretty much my favorite player since '09, but even I know it's time to move on. Too much $$$ next year, plus he'll be 34 and coming off this injury. Then again I'm the one who kept advocating trading Wake when he still had enough value to bring in a 1st-2nd round pick. He honestly didn't deserve to be stuck in a dumpster fire organization like this. And no, I don't care of the Pats sign him on the cheap, they're already going 19-0 without him so what's the difference?
