Pick 197 and 238 Predictions
Okay, anyone who is still interested...
I found this mock picking from the remainders and they say
197 - Colby Sorsdal OL Williams and Mary 6-5 305 lb OT
238 - Jovaughn Gwyn, OL, South Carolina 6-2 297 Guard.
The more I look into Sorsdal, this could be a great sleeper pick. His athletic upside is huge.
Gwynn would provide some nice depth I guess, but I doubt he would push any of the starters.
I am going to say Grier drafts a DE or DT with # 197 though.
#197 D J Dale DT from Bama
and at # 238 - Kadeem Telfort - OT UAB
and then lets hope Grier and company are able to dig up a few diamonds in the UDFAs this year too.
Go Phins!!
Edit to add: I forgot to mention I heard a rumor that Grier and Co. were trying desperately to move up
into the 4th round, (one of my So. Fla. friends heard it...) but... They would probably have to use a next
years pick to do that, and I would disapprove of that immensely!

Re: Pick 197 and 238 Predictions
I'm hoping for OL Warren McLendon, TE Payne Durham, or DL Karl Brooks.
Re: Pick 197 and 238 Predictions
OL Andrew Voorhees is still out there. He won't play this year because of an ACL, but he was a top 100 player, maybe top 75, if healthy. I'd grab him in a heartbeat in round 6.

Durham went #171 to TB

Yep, and the Rams just took McLendon. Oh well!
Re: Pick 197 and 238 Predictions
OL Jaelyn Duncan and Luke Wypler still available - I'd be very happy with either of them. No idea why they haven't been drafted yet???
Re: Pick 197 and 238 Predictions
Karl Brooks went to the Pack, so my top three guys are all gone.
But I'll take Voorhees, Duncan or Wypler!

Re: Pick 197 and 238 Predictions
Pats just took WR Kayshon Boutte from LSU. They are quietly having a very good draft...unfortunately.
Re: Pick 197 and 238 Predictions
Bama guard Emil Ekiyor still available - I like him as a developmental pick with pretty big upside.
Re: Pick 197 and 238 Predictions
I'm thinking this pick is OL, DL or safety.
RB Kenny McIntosh is still there? Wow, thought he'd go much earlier.

Re: Pick 197 and 238 Predictions
Great pick by Saints - WR AT Perry from Wake Forest. I'm shocked he was still available.
Re: Pick 197 and 238 Predictions
Phins select WR/TE Elijah Higgins from Stanford. Big slot receiver at 6'3", 235. Looks like an H-back that can make plays out of the backfield...could compete with Ingold for some of those wheel routes we saw last year. Strange pick, but I can see how they might use him.
Re: Pick 197 and 238 Predictions
Higgins is apparently a YAC guy with good hands and - this is the key - considered a powerful run blocker. I'm seeing comparisons to the 49ers Jauan Jennings - I'll sign up for that right now!

Re: Pick 197 and 238 Predictions
So here's how I picture Higgins:
A big, fast, athletic slot receiver that can block the edge in the run game, and break tackles and get YAC in the pass game. He can also be an H-back, and play STs. Essentially, he helps out with the losses of Gesicki, Sherfield and Cethan Carter. Of course, he's a 6th rounder so who really knows if/when he'll actually play, but this is a versatile chess piece that McDaniel can have a lot of fun with.

@ckparrot
In Mike McDaniel's two drafts with the Miami Dolphins, they've taken two pass catchers: WR Erik Ezukanma and WR/TE Elijah Higgins.
Those two combined for 28 broken tackles and 777 yards after catch on 106 receptions in their final seasons.
Yeah. Mike McDaniel has a type.
