Jmp, You Were Right

I thought it was only fair to make this post after giving you so much grief today. Fins have worked some restructuring hocus pocus and are now UNDER the cap--with 2 days to spare

Hopefully that's a good omen for later tonight (Jmp will know what I'm talking about)

The best part of getting under the cap is that we still have a couple of aces up our sleeve: if we can restructure Chubb and Hill, and extend Tua, we could have as much as $40 million in cap space from what I'm seeing. And - we'll get another $18.5 million in June. Patience - let the process work.

And - Stony Brook basketball is in a dogfight right now with rival Hofstra!

(Oh, and Hocus Pocus by Focus is just plain awesome.)

Oh I know. I could watch if I wanted to, but today's been so depressingly disappointing that I think me NOT watching increases their chances of victory. Also, I just watched another team I was rooting for lose another college hoops game on top of everything else. I can only take so much, especially now that I'm an old geezer.

Not sure if I should laugh or cry...but you speak truth!

i don't think just getting under the cap was ever in question. managing the cap such that the Phins could maintian/acquire enough talent to be competitive is a different matter. still a lot of holes to fill - and not with just average guys, but with guys who make this team better...it remains to be seen if it can be done.

Well, getting under the cap was in question for some people! LOL

But yes - still a lot of work to do. Off to a good start, though, and with the ability to open up more cap space we will have some ammo. Keep an eye on lower-cost free agents and guys that were cut - since those will not impact our comp picks.

Some roster cut players I'd be looking at:
DT Bryan Mone
S Justin Simmons, Jordan Poyer, Rayshawn Jenkins
CB Darious Williams
