Excellent career move for Campbell...couldn't have landed in a better place. He gets to learn from and hone his skills under one of the better head coaches in the league. He will be a great head coach some day, no doubt in my mind.
Re: Campbell Joins Saints
Maybe we can bring him back in 3 or 4 years if Gase fails.

Let's hope Gase succeeds and the Phins have no need for a new HC.
Personally, I think the HC merry-go-round Ross has been playing is asinine, but it is hard to argue with dumping Sparano and Philbin. The fact he HIRED those goobers in the first place points to his flaws as a football mind IMO.
Couple the crap at the top of the organization with the unadulterated pure stench on a stick drafting of the Phins for decades, and it is no wonder the team has fallen to such a low point.
Given a HC who is not a complete LOSER and a couple of GOOD drafts, not the usual rotten tripe the Phins have been getting for years, and PERHAPS the Phins can get off this cycle of abject failure they have been on since Ross bought the team.

Yep, that's the equation: competent coaching + good drafts = winning seasons. We'll see if the Phins got it right this time.

Campbell will be a good head coach in a few years, IMO. Kinda wish he'd had the opportunity to grow into the job here. For example, if we had just bit the bullet and kept Bowles instead of settling on compromise candidate Failbin after '11, we'd have an experienced and above average NFL head coach now.

At first I was in favor of keeping Campbell and giving him a shot but the last few games the team quit and was total lacking any hunger or fire on the sidelines. Most looked like they wanted to be anyplace but in a uniform playing football plus he let Rizzo totally overshadow him.
