BIGGEST NFL REGULAR SEASON UPSET OF ALL TIME!!!
Yes, I consider it an even greater shocker then when the '04 Fins beat the Pats on MNF because IMO this team is actually worse. Recency bias FTW!!!

What was the line on this game? Double digits?

Re: BIGGEST NFL REGULAR SEASON UPSET OF ALL TIME!!!
FYI the 4-12 '04 Fins finished that season with a -79 point differential. Even after a couple of wins and at 6-7 this team is at -82. So I don't think it's a stretch at all to say the '04 team was probably better. Although this team certainly has the chance to change that.
Also, somehow despite the '04 Pats coming in at 12-1 to the Fins' 2-11, they were only favored by 10 according to PFR So according to Vegas this game really WAS a bigger upset!

Also, here is a list of every game won by the Fins in which they were 10 point underdogs or more. That line from the Falcons game earlier this season is outrageous, and the '92 Bills game at Rich is another shocker as well. And how the HELL was Dallas favored by 10 going into that Thanksgiving '93 game?!?! That can't be right.
I'll always remember the '06 Bears game for Jmp guaranteeing a Fins win, that was pure brilliance

Good point, but the Ravens drubbing (40-0?!) really kind of skews the point total to make it look worse than it is. One bad, blowout game does not a really bad team make.

Except that even when the Fins were 4-2 they had the worst PD of any 4-2 team in NFL history by far and as recently as 2 weeks ago they were right down there with the Browns (and are still slightly behind the 3-win 49ers). Also, this team is just one more 20-plus point drubbing away from matching the '07 squad for second most such losses in a season--and would already be tied with them if not for that last play Jets TD.

Basically, this has been a really bad team who got really lucky the first month and a half before the luck ran out, but are now suddenly and mysteriously playing their best ball by far. Go figure.

Well, the inconsistency continues.
Now, watch the team that made Brady look MORTAL make the Bills QB look like a future HOFer.
Sure wish I knew what has turned the team around though. More, I am HOPEFUL GASE knows exactly what turned the team around!!
I get the impression he doesn't though?

Brady has lost more games in Miami then any other team that he has played against. You telling me that the Pats weakness is going to Miami. IMO, that was the best refereeing I seen all season.

Brady misses JT's warmth as he pressed up against him for a sack.

and speaking of the Ravens, who really own the Phins in more ways than one...
In truth, the biggest roadblock between the Dolphins and the playoffs is Baltimore, which owns the head-to-head tiebreaker thanks to the 40-0 victory a few weeks back. The Ravens also have the easiest remaining schedule, playing the Browns, Colts and Bengals.

because they own the head-to-head and are 1 game up in the standings, even if the Phins win out, they need Baltimore to lose at least 2 of 3 (note easy schedule) to have a realistic chance.

Yeah. One of the writers also mentioned our loss to a now 4-9 Tampa team with its backup QB.
That one hurts. Opportunity lost.

Re: BIGGEST NFL REGULAR SEASON UPSET OF ALL TIME!!!
I'm counting the Ravens as in, given their schedule - they should finish 10-6.
The Phins are battling the Bills, Jags, Titans, Chiefs and Chargers for the final spot. We've beaten the Titans and Chargers, and we still play the Chiefs and Bills (twice). I'm giving the Jags the South and the Chargers the West, so that means we have a chance to have tiebreakers over the other 3 teams we're battling.
Unlikely we win the next 3, but...JUST WIN, BABY!!!

Hell no! Absolutely no reason to keep another dead end QB...it's bad enough we've kept Moore around so damn long. Roll with Tannehill, and draft a rookie to compete with Fales and Doughty.
Personally, I'd dump Fales and Doughty too, but Gase loves them so they'll hang around for a while. Honestly, I'm not even convinced that Gase will draft a QB.

I would not be surprised at all. Given all the other needs on the roster, it will be pretty easy for anyone to argue that a player at another position will contribute more, and more quickly, than a developmental prospect at QB.

Yup. Battling back from 14 down to tie with 3 minutes left, only to lose by 10 somehow is fairly absurd even by this team's standards.
But you know, the Bucs and Fins had the same record after that game, and when you look at all the lucky Fins' wins (basically all of them up to the Broncos game) it's hard to really complain when the pendulum kinda sorta swings the other way for once.
If you want to be in the playoffs then don't lose 5 straight during the season, bottom line. Let he proverbial chips fall where they may.

This may be the worst the AFC has been in my lifetime. Definitely the worst since the late '80s. No wonder the Pats always look good, it's a lot easier to succeed when all your so-called competition so determined to fail.
