A new game
Watching Monday night football and realizing that Miami isn’t just behind on takent but they are behind on schemes. I think the Rams or Chiefs could put up 100 on Miami.

Re: A new game
That was one of the most entertaining games I've ever seen.
I just kept thinking of how innovative and creative those two offenses were, and how every player is on the same page and knows exactly what to do on each play...and contrasting that to the Dolphins, who look completely lifeless, clueless, bland and boring - and that was true even before the injuries. We're stuck in neutral, while the top teams are speeding forward.

Armando posted an article on this exact premise...

frustrating.
And this is troubling because there have been moments we thought progress was being made. You must remember that in 2016, the Dolphins beat the Rams in Los Angeles en route to an AFC wild card berth.
At that point the Dolphins were better than the Los Angeles Rams. Obviously, that’s changed as the Rams were 11-5 last season and are 10-1 now.
The Saints were 7-9 in 2016 so they, too, were behind the Dolphins then -- although not at quarterback. And now the Saints are 9-1 and looking quite impressive.
My point is the elite teams of today were no better and probably in worse shape than the Dolphins a couple of years ago. And somehow, those teams made the right moves to get themselves way better. Those teams blew the doors off a couple of offseason drafts and free agency periods while the Dolphins languished.

I’m maxed out on my free reads from the Herald. Thanks for posting that.
Watching Mahomes reminds me of Marino. He’s got the quickest release in the NFL right now.
Goff and Mahomes hit their receivers in stride. It’s abundantly clear that Miami needs a new QB. Tannehill isn’t a difference maker.

To read the Herald, open the article in a private window...pretend it's porn!
Watching guys like Brees, Rodgers, Mahomes, Goff, Trubisky, etc. just makes it clear that we haven't had a legit QB since Marino. Even with all the other holes on the team, I'm OK with trading everything to move up for a potential franchise QB if/when one is available.

I agree to an extent. I believe with the RIGHT talent and the RIGHT scheme, you get the Rams and Chiefs.
Essentially when the Dolphins drafted Tannehill he wasn't going to be the next Marino. I truly believe that he would be nothing more than a game manager. He was taught that way from day one. Gase has just rolled over what everyone else did to Tannehill. I think Tannehill could be effective if he was surrounded by talent on both sides of the ball like the Rams or the Chiefs. Remember, the Chiefs had success with Alex Smith at the helm too! Not as dynamic as Mahomes but nonetheless effective.
You can obviously see the schemes and the talent that align with the Rams and Chiefs. Where as Miami has no identity whatsoever.

I have to agree, there is no way that Miami can compete with that type of competition

Re: A new game
My wife seems to think that Mahomes is going to be figured out.
Now, that being said, and regardless if it's true or not, the very next play after she said that, he got pick-6'd. At that point, any argument I made against her point of view was moot, so I shut the hell up and laughed instead.
As good as that game was, at the end, Mahomes throwing the ball over the middle under 10 yards when they needed 65 yards in a minute, was terrible decision making. You've got to push the ball down the field a good distance if you're going to use the middle, and if you're going under 10 yards, it has to be right on the sideline.
Another thing, if Booger McFarland said the defenses were making the plays when it mattered and how well they were playing, in a game where they put up over 100 points, I thought I was going to have to type a strongly-worded, obscenity-filled email to my local constabulary.

Re: A new game
Miami’s entire organization needs to be changed from top to bottom. General manager, coaches, scouts, and players. I’d include medical staff and trainers also. We need a legitimate makeover with no holdovers! I would start looking at coaches and staff from Kansas City. They even won with Alex Smith. They are doing something right.
