If Tannehill, who owns a 42-46 record as Miami’s starter since 2012, is traded, the transaction would clear $13.18 million in cap space.
Releasing defensive end Robert Quinn, who contributed 38 tackles, 6.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in his one season with the Dolphins, would clear $12.93 million in cap space.

This makes total sense. Miami can rebuild their OL within both the draft and FA also adding young good players that aren't too expensive in FA as well. Which also makes tons of sense.

Yep. I suspect the 2019 team is going to be substantially different from the 2018 team.

And let us hope, not just from the view of the roster.

Priorities IMHO:

ONE - Fix the draft/personnel evaluation problems - Until the Phins get this fixed, everything else is just juicy poots in the face of the hurricane! Maybe Grier is the ONE!!!

TWO - Find a (franchise) QB. Much like the draft and personnel situation, if the QB position is sub-standard, unless the defense is world class and can win games on their own, everything else is just more skid marks in the underwear IMO. I would be surprised if the Phins fix this problem this year, but...

THREE - Build the LINES. D and O Lines MUST be WAY ABOVE Average to have any chance of winning a SB IMO. Sure, the QB and the scheme can mitigate some of the O line problems, but not being able to draft anyone but 1st rounders who can play on the O-line has absolutely KILLED the Phins for years. The D Line HAS TO BE ABLE to snuff out the run, or everything else is more of the damp flatulence mentioned above.

Cap space is great, but What the team does with it, or more importantly, doesn't do with it is just as important.

The Phins definitely need to dump some aging so-so type players they paid way too much for IMO.

I predict Tannehill will be a great backup QB. He won’t get starting time on another team but will win some games as a backup.
