Cool Dave Hyde piece: "A fan, a quest — and a missing Miami Dolphin"

This is a story about a guy (Ryann Dunn) that has autographs from every member of the '72 Dolphins (players and coaches) - except backup CB Henry Stuckey. Very cool read!

Dunn has autographs from all the players, all the coaches, except for Henry Stuckey, who never figured to be the story of anything on this team. He was a reserve cornerback. Unnoticed. A good soldier ant on a roster of stars, one who went about his job and lasted a few years in the league.
He then disappeared. The team hasn't heard from him for decades. Teammates have no idea what happened to him. Dunn tracked him a couple of years ago to a low-rent hotel in Atlantic City, N.J.
He wrote him a letter. No response. He sent another letter. No response. He wrote to me, and then ProFootballTalk, to send up a red flare into the night sky for Stuckey to see.

I thought I heard Henry Stuckey had passed a couple years ago. I always remember him for his big afro. I liked the number 48 for some reason for a DB. Just looked cool.

Update: Stuckey is still "lost", but Dunn finally got his autograph.

Scott Modist visited Dolphins practices at Biscayne College as a kid in the early 1970s, watching them work and getting autographs. So when he read my column last week of Dolphins fan Ryan Dunn’s quest to get all the 1972 team’s autographs and was missing just one - cornerback Henry Stuckey’s – Modist pulled out his old autograph books.
He then wrote me this e-mail:
“Dave, I read your article and I have Henry’s autograph if Ryan wants it.”
So some time on Tuesday in Altoona, Iowa, Dunn will get an overnight package from Modist. It has a cut-out autograph of Stuckey attached to piece of paper with an old Dolphins logo, picture of the cornerback and the headline, “The Final Dolphin.”
