I'd trade down, not up. Both ESPN scenarios would be disastrous for the Dolphins IMO.

This. Unless it's for a QB, don't trade up. Trade down and increase the odds you will hit on one or more special players.

I have to agree with Hal on this one. Trading up means that the Fins are desperate in finding a QB which they shouldn't be. Miami would benefit from trading down getting more picks and creating competition within the team. I pick up a developmental QB that can backup the starter and come in when it is necessary or they could find a diamond in the rough QB aka tom Brady ish

QB Luke Falk was cut today. Not a surprise...he was a Gase QB. I never liked him, so I'm happy we moved on. I guess we'll look to add a 4th QB at some point to compete with Rudock.

We've clearly upgraded the developmental QB, for sure.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating: this is the best QB room we've had since Marino/Mitchell.

Isn't it amazing that our "offensive genius/QB guru" had three years, and wasn't able to put together a QB room even half this good???

Obviously we'll have to see how it all plays out, but purely from a talent perspective...damn, I'm impressed with the job Grier and his staff have done in such a short time. It's refreshing to see QB being a priority for once.

Amazing what good chemistry in the front office can do!!!!! Although the roster doesn’t appear to be built to compete. I am more optimistic with the underachievers on this roster than ever before. I’m not saying we will be in the super bowl but I think they will be competitive.

Yes, the roster is definitely a work in progress. Still way too many holes, especially on defense.

But I wil say this...if these coaches are as good as I think they are, scheme will hide a lot of the warts. This team will be better than last year based on coaching alone. It may not show up in the win column just yet, but I have no doubt that we'll be more comptetive than last season's garbage team.

Oh, and by the way...Gase already picked up Falk with the Jets! LOL He sure does love collecting garbage QBs from his past...

Someone that Miami should look into....

Kyle Crabbs wrote:Injuries have prevented pass rusher Shane Ray from reaching his potential as an NFL player — Ray has struggled through multiple wrist surgeries since entering the league and an ankle injury in 2018. As a result, Ray is still on the free agent market and looking for a home.
These are the kind of logical targets for the Miami Dolphins at this juncture in the off-season. Ray has high injury potential but also high promise. Way back in 2016, Ray — as a second-year pro — logged 8 sacks for the Denver Broncos and appeared to have turned the corner.

Not sure how much of a fit Ray is for this Miami defense, but I'd definitely take a look at him as a 3rd down pass rush specialist.

Solid value deal for Mills to play RT. Hopefully he can hold the position down while Prince develops.

Adam Beasley wrote:Former University of Miami running back Mark Walton, cut by the Bengals in April his third arrest in less than three months, might get a second chance at pro football.

Walton was among the players trying out for the Dolphins during Friday’s rookie minicamp.

Walton’s status in the league is limbo after Miami-Dade cops arrested him on felony charges of carrying a concealed weapon, marijuana possession and reckless driving. That was the carnage from Walton’s high-speed car chase with cops on the night of March 12 in North Miami-Dade.

Wow I didn't know he had three pending cases. I surprised that he got a tryout with Miami

I'm all for giving Shane Ray a shot, then again I'm a Mizzou homer so what do I know. He's a go getter but obviously his pro career hasn't panned out.

I'm okay with the Walton signing.

Very excited that we signed Jamar Summers. IMO, he was the best CB in the AAF. Showed excellent coverage skills and seemed to make a play on the ball every time it came near him. If he plays even half as good in camp, he's on this team and maybe even starting opposite X. I've heard that his long speed is questionable, but he looked plenty fast enough in the AAF.

Phins hired Dave DeGuglielmo as an offensive line consultant. Fantastic hire!! He was with the Colts last season, and has also been with the Pats. And, he was our OL coach under Sparano...the last time we had a strong OL. He has worked with our current OL coach Pat Flaherty in the past as well. He's coached Super Bowl teams with the Giants and Pats.

Damn, we have an all-star coaching staff on paper...let's hope it translates to the field!

Three arrests! Why bother? If you are counting on him it is only a question of WHEN he gets suspended, not if IMHO.

I am starting to get the feeling that MAYBE the Phins are planning on "Tanking for Tua!" or stinking it up for one of the other QBs next year.

Of course....not INTENTIONALLY...it will just sorta happen...by happenstance, you know???

In light of the Tyreek Hill Incident, this is just REALLY bad optics, as the kiddies say.

I mean, if you're too much of a thug for the BENGALS to keep... Shocked Shocked Shocked

Remember back in the day (hard to believe it's been 20 years now) when people were pooh-poohing the drafting of Cecil Collins using the rationale that "even if he screws up, it only cost a 5th rounder"? Remember after the inevitable screwup how quiet those people got, to the point of never mentioning Collins again?

If that's the case then why sign him at all? Makes it even more absurd, since they could've signed any random RB without the arrest history.

Seriously, you really have to go out of your way to do something like this. It's like NFL teams are signing thugs on purpose now as an act of defiance against the rightful outrage over what Hill did. "So you wanna be mad about criminal behavior huh? Well we'll show YOU!!!"

I blame SJWs. I think there may now such a backlash against them that people are going too far the other way with it, for the same reason PC got so out of control that it's actually creating more bigotry than there's been in decades.

No, this team knew EXACTLY what it was doing when they signed Walton.
