RIP Benny Malone. The former Miami Dolphins running back passed away yesterday after battling diabetes. A second round draft pick out of Arizona State in 1974, Malone played 5 seasons with the Dolphins from 1974 to 78 before finishing his career with the Redskins in 1979. The bow-legged Malone had a distinct galloping running style. He is most remembered for his spectacular 23 yard touchdown run against the Raiders in a 1974 playoff game to put the Dolphins ahead 26-21 with 2:03 to play in the game. However, Raiders quarterback Ken Stabler would direct a 68 yard game winning drive which culminated with a miraculous touchdown pass to Clarence Davis to give Oakland a 28-26 victory in the play known as the "Sea of Hands." Malone finished his career with 2,693 yards and 19 touchdowns. Benny Malone was 68 years old.
RIP. Great Dolphin from mid-seventies. Loved his bowl-legged running style. If only he had fallen down instead of scoring in that faidahs playoff game back in the day.

Thanks for posting this Scot- I hadn't heard. I only know him from highlights, but he was a good player and deserves to be recognized. RIP Benny.
Re: RIP Benny Malone
Benny Malone literally picked the perfect time to leave this world. I don't feel sad about this at all, I'm happy for his soul. It's literally in a far better place now.
