Vegas over/under for 2020

Vegas has initially set the Phins season wins over/under at 6 games.

two questions...

would anything under 6 wins for the Phins in 2020 be considered a colossal failure and step backwards or is 6 realistic?

is the over (7 games or more) easy money?

I'd certainly be upset with under 6 wins - major step back.

I *think* 7 wins is easy money, but too soon to tell.  Still a lot of holes that need to be addressed in the draft and later-stage free agency.

Yeah several problems betting on that over/under right now.

- New England will still be bringing a championship-caliber defense to the table, and I know they have a plan at QB we just don't know what yet. They could have a better team than last season, no question - even without Brady.
- Gase finished strong with the Jets last season, I think they won the last 6 of 8. Will Darnold prove to be a franchise QB? If so, that coupled with a Gregg Williams defense will be a contender, and no easy W for us at all.
- Buffalo is a playoff caliber squad. If Allen continues getting better, another contender.

So, just in our own division, I don't see any easy wins. Not one.

Then there's the internal issues on our own team.

Does Fitz continue playing to the level he finished last year? Or does he revert to the feast and famine QB he's been through his career.

Will we finally field an above-average offensive line and running game? I can't count how many times I've typed that sentence.

Will our defense go from just showing some potential to top-15 or better? We have a new coordinator (again) and have added some nice free agent pieces. But again, we need to set the edge and stop the run - that hasn't happened well here for years. Plus I don't like McCain at safety he's too small, we need him in the slot and we need a true starter to pair with Rowe.

9 and 7 or 10&6

For a team that is still building I see nothing wrong with Miami winning 6 games. Miami will still be working with Fitz until Miami feels comfortable that their QB situation is where it needs to be. In the draft there are a lot of hit and misses so if Miami draft well I see them winning at least 6 to 8 games this season. anything under 6 would be disappointing but at least 6 and more.

Winning 5 games with a garbage roster set the bar. With an improved team you can't win just 1 more game...that's not progress.

8 wins should be the absolute bare minimum expectation. I don't care what anybody says, the Pats WILL be worse, and the Fins split with them every season anyway. I simply cannot take the Gase-led Jets seriously. I do think the Bills will sweep this team, but that still doesn't mean they can't win 8 of the other 14 games or however many wind up actually being played.

Can't wait to see how quickly Gase implodes and buries the Jets!

It's fine to expect improvement in our win total but if the team should win only 5 or 6 games it won't be the end of the world if they are showing improvement on the field. Sometimes that doesn't show up in the W column. Now if they just totally implode and play sloppy football and get blown out every other week, we have a problem.
