New kicker
Miami needs to find a new kicker. I'm watching the Cowboys kicker hit from 59 and 60. They could have been from 70 and the kicker is 29 of 29 on the year. Miami can do better!

Re: New kicker
It is amazing how all these kickers can now easily kick 55-60 yarders like it's nothing. Crazy.
It's funny, every time I write off Sanders he ends up doing well. I was done with him earlier this season, but he's been really solid lately. If the Phins cut or trade him post-June 1, they'll save $3.77 million in cap space, and have a relatively small dead cap hit in 2024 and 2025. With that in mind, I think he's playing for his Dolphins career the rest of this season. If he screws up, he's a goner.

Um, yeah, about that...
Sanders did miss twice in game 2 VS the Pats. Since then he's gone 8 for 9. Hardly awful and in dire need of replacing.

Also, Sanders has fewer FG attempts than any other kicker/team in the league, because the Fins are just that good at scoring TDs instead. This is hardly the same as when Uwe Von Shamann hit less than half of his 19 FGs for the high-scoring high flying '84 squad (he also had the fewest attempts that season). Didn't stop them from reaching the Super Bowl though.

If this Brandon Aubrey dude is such a kicking savant, then why is this his first NFL season at age 28? Wouldn't he have been on a team years before now if he was Justin Tucker 2.0? The Cowboys aren't even the only team whose been perfect on FGs so far this season--the Chiefs have been too and it didn't help them the last 2 games did it? The Jets, Titans and Chargers only missing one kick each hasn't done them much good so far either.

If Sanders shanks a kick or two tonight and the Fins lose by 3 or less as a result, or if this Aubrey guy nails a 60-plus yarder to beat the Fins then I'll change my tune but right now kicker is WAY down on the list of problems. I'm more concerned about injuries and the traditional Dolphins December Dive which always seems to kick in right about now.

Re: New kicker
Oh, I agree that Sanders is far from a problem right now. But his contract does make his spot on the roster a bit shaky this offseason.

Careful what you wish for. I shed no tears when JJ traded Stoyo...and then I witnessed a season of Joe Nedney, which made me shed tears for a different reason
I do think kickers have a shelf life, and when it's gone it's gone and the only way they're getting their groove back is on another team. Then again, Justin Tucker still exists.
