Get ready for the roller coaster boys.
I have zero expectations. I'm just along for the ride.
This team needs to show me something. I have hope that they can, remains to be seen if they actually will.

Re: Finally Football is Here
yes, one step closer to the real games.
i get that the Phins are being cautious with Foster and i know that X. Howard just had surgery so the PUP makes sense, but what's up with the rest...

especially with McCain - is he hurt too?

Foster is one of five players who won't be on the field Friday for the team's first practice.
The others on PUP: corners Xavier Howard (as expected) and Bobby McCain, running back Damien Williams and linebacker Zach Vigil.

Read on Twitter that both McCain and Williams failed conditioning benchmark(s).
Oops. Not a good start, but not un-recoverable for either of them.

That sucks..... I have been reading that Gase is not going to use the training bubble at all. Supposedly they are going to practice in the heat and hope that they have their barf bags. If I can find the article again I will post it

Re: Finally Football is Here
I'm told McCain will likely be back in a couple of days. It is not a long-term issue.
Williams is out of shape and coach Adam Gase is not pleased with him because, I'm told, the player was out of shape a month ago and he remains that way. The coach would not disclose that Williams is out of shape but when asked if all players passed the conditioning test, he answered, "maybe not."

McCain sounds like a minor injury, but Williams sounds like a guy who is working (or not working, as the case may be) his way off the squad.

Re: Finally Football is Here
Yep. Williams was looking to run 3rd on the depth chart - at best. Plus, today I learned that Gase actually liked Daniel Thomas while up in Chicago.
We haven't even raised the question on all-down capability for Williams. Does he have the size, skills and ability to run inside/outside to even serve as an every down back in the Gase offense?
Combined, this all spells trouble for Williams.

Williams can't even get in shape to complete the run that everyone know is coming the 1st day of camp. I would give Him one more try than if he can't make it than time for the 1st cut of camp.

Re: Finally Football is Here
That really sucks.
Even as a fringe NFL roster guy, you make more money than in a REAL JOB.
Some guys are just freakin stupid!
**************************************************
I am with W1 on this. After looking at the schedule, I suspect some BAD results.
I FINALLY called DirecTv and told them I wasn't paying $354 for NFL Sunday Ticket.
They offered me $36 off.
I said no.
They offered me $54 off.
I said no.
So now, I am no longer a Sunday ticket subscriber.
Maybe NOW...the Phins will have a good season!!!

I admire FF for sticking with it as long as he did, I really do. I never did buy it and even if I had I'd have given it up years before now. The Pats always win the division and the Fins always miss the playoffs anyway, why should I pay money to watch this happen?

Re: Finally Football is Here
I'm still the stubborn old fool watching this team on the Sunday ticket. I follow the Giants also, so I get more than enough use out of it. My Sunday ritual.
Cost wise it only makes sense if you're going to a sports bar most weeks to watch the game. I can do some serious damage eating and drinking for 3 or 4 hours.
If you're a fan who is fine watching replays and catch the national games (ha ha, not as many as there used to be for this irrelevant team) then the Sunday Ticket really makes no sense.
Local fans have it the best. Rarely if ever blacked out, watch it free on TV.

Oh btw I am still lining up for that AZ game in December.
Probably an epic drubbing, but what the hell I'll spend a weekend in Miami and check out the new stadium. Weather should be great that time of year.

Re: Finally Football is Here
I'm getting a shitload of channels, internet and phone for $50.00 a month less than DirecTV now, or will be in the very near future. This includes Red Zone too, as well as NFL Network, pretty much everything but Sunday Ticket.
DirecTV and the NFL can go fuck themselves for the ridiculous price. I loved Sunday Ticket, but I can't at all justify it anymore.
As far as Williams, moron.

Re: Finally Football is Here
I haven't been billed for Sunday Ticket yet, but I'll just call up and get discounts like always. Still expensive, but I always mange to get the cost down to an amount I can live with. Hopefully that will be the case this season.
Re: Finally Football is Here
By the way, it is great to see camp back in action again.
I'm loving twitter, following the beat writers down there, I get links to new writeups as soon as they are available, as well as breaking news as they arrive to camp each morning.
Already tired of wondering "is the pass rush really good or offensive line bad? Can our DBs cover or is it our receivers are playing really well?"
Hungry for the first preseason game. Let's line up against another opponent and get an early look at these young guys.

Re: Finally Football is Here
Yeah, reading all these twitter posts is great - tons of info! Not expecting much from the Phins, but it's just good to have football back!
And, I think LB, TE and especially CB and OL are going to be major problem areas all season.
