Re: Game night
Last weeks loss to Baltimore was expected. Miami never wins two games in a row against physical teams.

Williams get smoked but makes it into the end zone than miss extra point than do onside kick, Time to pull out the stops.

That's an official shitload of passes from 0-10 yards.

Miami DB could stop the pass if it would save their life.

Re: Game night
Well, not that much difference from the team we've been seeing, really. I have a hard time believing that we will win 4 of the last 8.

Re: Game night
The final score was close, but the defense was absolutely terrible and the offense didn't do much of anything till their final drive. Really bad loss at home to an Oakland team that had one foot in the grave.
Re: Game night
They're done. This team only has a few pieces, but nothing really solid to build on. I don't even have any real hope for a future right now. I'm trying not to sound fatalistic either, but really there's just not much there to build upon. I thought Malaluga looked good for awhile, but Alonzo sucks, man is he just terrible. He does NOTHING really well.
The offensive scheme was fucking brutal. BRUTAL. I've said this before, but Bill Bellichick when his defenses are not up to snuff talent-wise, designs his schemes (by his own admission) to eat up plays, force the offense to stay out there for a long time, because if they do, most of the time they'll make mistakes and stop themselves. Our offense is built to stay out there forever and eventually, as they did all night, they stop themselves.
Those officials were fucking flag happy tonight too. This is a big part of the reason NFL football sucks right now, and it's the real culprit of lower ratings, not other distractions, because if the game was amazing, people would just complain about distractions but still watch.

I didn’t see Wake at all. Is his time at an end?

There's really no other pressure from the opposite side, but I didn't see wake getting doubled or anything tonight.

The field sucked, so it was hard for any of the D-linemen to get traction. Especially Wake, who really relies on footwork. Mack was quiet for Oakland too. Of course, it doesn't help that our #1 pick never gets near the QB...
The field is an embarrassment - worst in the NFL.
Re: Game night
I'll try to have game thoughts up tonight, but here's a preview...
When you're facing a team that has a terrible, banged up secondary, why do you go with a short passing game and NEVER challenge the DBs??? Terrible offensive gameplan - just terrible.

Doesn't help that UM plays on the field the day before.

It doesn't help, and neither does the rain, but that really isn't an excuse. UM and the Phins have shared the stadium for years, and the field has never been bad like this. It's because of the stadium renovations they did - whatever field turf they're using just doesn't work with the roof now partially covered.
The Ja'Wuan James injury was definitely due to the turf. He planted his foot and it just sunk into the soft turf and he twisted his ankle. It's just a matter of time till there's a major injury from this field.
Re: Game night
that is true as well. the turf looks like it came from my house.

If they can't manage grass in fuckin' south Florida, then they just need to go to field turf. You could grow a nice lawn on a lamppost down there. I know, I'm a native Miami boy.
