Game Day Fins vs Ravens

My heart is not in it but I'll be watching. In a regular season the Ravens usually have our number so this might be ugly with a team of scrubs and old man QB.

I see a close defensive struggle, as I think the new scheme will keep scores low. Ravens have too much talent though. 22-14 Ravens.

Agreed that it will be low-scoring. I'm thinking VERY low...maybe 16-10 Ravens.

It's hard to know what's going to happen. I really don't think we have a NFL caliber roster.

I honestly don't think I can do this all season. I feel bad for Flores. They must have promised him a few years of amnesty for being given a bag of crap to coach.

I took Baltimore as the highest scoring team this weekend

Believe it or not, this is only the third time the Fins have allowed 42 points or more at the half. They gave up 48 to the Bills in '66 (third game as a team) and 42 to the '07 Pats.

Also, in the last 10 quarters they've played, the Ravens have now outscored the Fins 120-16. Can we start a petition to not have them on the schedule anymore? This was literally the worst possible opponent for this team to play in an opener. I'd rather have faced the Pats this week TBH.

I was supposed to be sleeping, but I dreamed that a giant black evil rat was running around the house and I couldn't kill it no matter what I did and then I woke up and got hungry and now I'm not sleepy at all. Bleh.

I think I actually UNDERESTIMATED how bad this team will be. We're talking about making the 2016-17 Browns look like the '72 Fins here. I now seriously believe they will not only be 0-16, but have the worst point differential of any team in the 16 season era. And because we now live in Clown World, I also fully expect the league to take away all their draft picks next year for making the tank job so obvious.

At least they scored a TD. From what I was hearing about the offense I figured that wouldn't happen until the 5th game or so.

Worst regular season loss in team history was by 45, to the Chiefs way back in '68 BTW. As I type this they trail by 42. Might as well go for the record.

All those weird roster cuts last week, that's what did it IMO. I was actually and completely on board with everything that happened right up to the Tunsil trade, and then it was like Ireland and his infamous roster churn had suddenly somehow taken over as GM again.

New record for worst regular season loss, as well as most points allowed in team history. Good one, Flores! No really, it's just all part of the Pats' plan to keep the bad teams bad forever.

And you know what part of this game makes me genuinely angry? The Ravens NOT scoring another TD at the end. They go out of their way to run up the score all the way to the final minute and THEN decided to lay off??? Huh??? What??? This should've been a 66-10 game. It DESERVED to be a 66-10 game.

Oh well, the Pats won't have such scruples and will win by 60-plus next week. Book it, Danno.

Man, that was ugly. But it is what it is. Things will get marginally better as these players gain experience and learn to play with each other, but it's a weak roster anyway you look at it. As long as we get Tua, I'm willing to sit through this nightmare season.

I'm now convinced Tua or whoever they draft will either be a Ryan Leaf-level bust or flat out refuse to sign and get away with it, just like every other player who throws a hissyfit these days.

It all starts at QB. We MUST get a franchise QB. That's the only way we'll ever turn it around. But you're right - we need to build a strong team around that QB. And we have the draft picks and cap space to do just that. But step 1 is getting the QB.

That was really quite impressive.

I've never seen a defense give up so early in a game in my entire life.
