A slow first quarter. Brissett sucks!

I started the game on the DVR, just got caught up in real-time.

After a little more than one quarter, the defense looks excellent and the offense is non-existent.  Once again, it is a combo of poor playcalling and horrendous offensive line play.  Brissett is getting pressured on every dropback and there is zero run blocking.  The play design is laughable...as an example, they called a toss play to Gaskin, and when he got outside he was immediately met by 4 Ravens - with no Dolphin in sight.  How do you design an outside toss with no blockers on that side???  WTF!!!

Anyway, this is destined to be a shutout unless the defense can score.  I suspect the D will keep it close for awhile, but they'll be exhausted by the 3rd quarter with all the 3 and outs from the offense.  So, look for the blowout to happen in the second half.

On a positive note, Holland just keeps getting better and better.  Dude is a beast.

Meanwhile, the Devils are kicking ass - so JEG made the right call by going to the game.

Nice play by Waddle to stretch for a first down.  Video review gave him the first after it was initially called short...the system worked for a change!

This is the worst run blocking OL in the history of the league.  I've never seen anything like it...there is literally no blocking at all.  I don't even know what the linemen are doing.  Gaskin gets hit immediately every single time.  I just don't understand how it can be this bad.

The officiating is terrible tonight. Miami is getting zero calls. Late hit on Brissett no call and the receivers are getting mugged.

Baker beautiful tackle to stuff a 3rd down play!  Right before that, Holland tipped a pass on a 2nd down blitz.

Where has this D been all season?  They look like they did last year - tons of creative blitzes, excellent coverage and sure tackling.

Isaiah Ford gets a first down - ran a nice pattern there.

Ford with a 52 yard catch and run on a busted play!  Brissett was running for his life and no one covered Ford - Brissett lofted it to him and he did the rest!  YES!!!!

Now Brissett threads the needle to Shaheen for a 1st and goal.  Woo hoo!!

Phins have to settle for a FG.  Damn it.  Great to be winning at the half, but it sucks to have to settle for FGs against a team that can score a bunch in a hurry.

Looking at the replay, the Ravens should have been flagged for PI in the end zone on 2nd down.  The defender mugged Shaheen...no flag.

So, in the first half:

--Brissett seemingly tried to set a record for passes thrown into the ground - but still outplayed Lamar Jackson.
--Isiah Ford recorded the biggest Dolphins' play this season.
--The defense was excellent against both the run and pass.

I don't want to get ahead of myself, but this could very well be one of those wacky  "opposite days" where strange things just continue to happen in the Dolphins' favor...

Brissett suffered what looks like a potentially bad knee injury on 3rd down.  Flores must be pissed...he might be forced to put Tua in now.
