O-line question coming Empty O-line question coming

Post by mercury22nathan Thu Nov 05, 2020 8:08 am

Austin Jackson participated in team drills on Wednesday. so here's the question, when Jackson is fully healthy, what do you do?

A. nothing. Davis on the left with Kindley emerging on the right is working just fine.
B. they were better before. move Davis back to the right with Jackson on the left and Kindley back to bench.
C. there is a youth movement for a reason. Jackson back to the left with Davis to the bench and Kindley stays right where he is.

When Jackson comes back, I'd put him at LT and move Davis back to RT. Hunt goes to the bench.

Nothing against Hunt, but right now he seems to have hit a wall and Davis is having a very strong season. Kindley has struggled recently as well, but he's held down the RG spot from day one so I see no need to change. Let's go with the line we started the season with.

agree with Jmp. Hunt will be fully ready to take over at RT in 2021.

Yeah and I wouldn't rush Jackson back, make sure he's back to at least close to game shape.

Absolutely. This staff seems to be conservative with injuries, so I think that will be the plan.

No need to rush the LT tackle back but we need to insure that we have the best RT for a left handed QB.

Hunt has ugly footwork but his size somewhat overwhelms the pass rush. As long as the line holds stay with the youth movement.

as i suspected, it was Kindley that sat down. Hunt has been playing better at RT and i had a feeling the Phins wanted to keep Davis (as a nod to the veteran) in the lineup as the RG.

Davis continues to underwhelm IMO. He is lucky there are no better options, or his ass would be where he belongs, as our best SWING-LINEMAN off the bench. I see this flopping back the rest of the year. Whoever is playing best wil stay in the game. Hunt is a rookie. He will make rookie mistakes. I get playing the vet. Especially, with two other rooks on the starting line.

Where did the sacks come from yesterday? Tua indecision or break downs from the line?

Combo of both. With Tua, he sometimes held the ball too long as he waited for receivers to get open. He needs to learn when and how to throw the ball away when nothing is there, avoid the negative play. The OL did also have several breakdowns...one sack was definitely on Austin Jackson.
