Raekwon Davis on IR

An absolutely crushing blow to the defense. No word on the severity of the knee injury...hoping he's back in 3 weeks but who knows...

By the looks of him after the injury, wearing brace and sprinting on sideline, I'm hoping this is a short term outage.

Yeah, he was apparently ready (and trying) to get back in, but Flo said the coaches held him out. So I guess it is more serious than Davis initially thought? Let's just hope it isn't too serious...

often times when the injury occurs, adrenaline and blood flow can disguise the immediate seriousness of the injury. plenty of guys have played through ACL tears only to suffer the next day when the swelling sets in. hopefully it isn't serious and we'll see him back this season.

next man up, hopefully Jenkins, Sieler, Butler - and yes more from Wilkins too - can fill the gap (pun intended).

We need more from Butler for sure...he was a non-factor against the Pats, but he does have pass rush ability and we'll need it Sunday. Sieler did well with limited snaps - interested to see him get more action.

This is a game where Wilkins, Phillips, Baker and AVG really need to step up - they are the players IMO that can match up well with Allen from an athleticism standpoint.

Anyway...

It sounds like Raekwon Davis will be off IR this week - so that's good news at least. Not that it matters at this point.
