Breaking news, Flores hired as Steelers linebacker coach.

I'm surprised any team hired him at all.  It is a good fit, though.

I'm also surprised he's not suing them for not offering him a coordinator job.

He burned his bridge so bad he could not even kiss the rings and go back to King Bill like all his other castoffs.

You know... I hate to say it, but this could be the Rooneys trying to be the "least racist" NFL Owners again.

I mean they are, but this has virtue signaling BS written all over it IMHO. "Look at us! We are so progressive and civilized, we hire the guy suing us for not hiring him! Are we not the best of the NFL Owners."

Why in heck anyone would hire a guy who OBVIOUSLY could not get along with his coaching staff and highly drafted QB is puzzling for sure.

Yeah, it does seem like a strange signing. "Hey, let's hire the guy that's suing the NFL! How could that ever backfire?"

Hope the team is prepared for the MAJOR distractions this move will ultimately cause.

Best thing that could have happened to Flores.

He gets a chance to learn from his mistakes instead of being prematurely hired for a second HC gig without getting any chance to do so. I know I've given the examples of the latter before, i.e. Wannstedt, Mangini, Kotite. It normally means you fail miserably and you ain't getting a third shot.

However his reaction to being let go in Miami has to be troubling. Wise move would be to just let the suit go and focus on honing his people skills. Dude can coach a defense. He has a lot in common with 1996 Belicheck, if he can just get over himself.
