Tom Brady retires

I hate the guy, but damn...what a career!

I don't believe it for a second. Brady is the new Favre. He'll have a "change of heart" in 2 weeks or less, I guarantee it. This is a guy who genuinely believes that without football he's nothing, a guy who was literally willing to throw away his wife and kids to stay in the NFL. No way he walks away before 50.

Let's just suppose it was all 4-D chess, this year's comeback.

TB realizes he can get a much younger upgrade with her best years ahead of her instead of behind her who isn't such a wet blanket if he just goes back on his word and plays one more year......hey, just putting this out there in the realm of possibility.

Brady's set to make a ton of money at Fox, and in that last game he looked like he was mentally done. I think this is it for him. I suppose if Vegas offered him a shit-ton of money, he might be interested - but I don't see it.

It's Brady's own fault.

He had it all done - go out on top, SB champion with the Bucs. One last hurrah proving he didn't need Belichik to win it all.

Instead he stays on one year too long. Backs into the playoffs only because they happen to be the worse division in football this year. Then bounced in the first round unceremoniously by an average Dallas team.

Not the way his career *should* have ended, and he has no one but himself to blame.

Far from the first to hang around just a little too long. Favre's last season was far worse in 2010, and Unitas and Namath went out on lower notes, unable to even stay in the lineup.

I can understand it. Hard to face the finality of walking away for good.
