Dolphins draft grade by round
Rnd 1. A
Rnd 2. C
Rnd 3.
Rnd 4. D Projected as a 6th round pick. Doesn't play with fire. Let's the game come to him. We really need new scouts for the O line.

Saw someone else say the same thing. Miami missed out on a good OG and had to make up for the miss

Round 5 is a solid B.

This is the first draft I can remember where I think everyone drafted can contribute. I'm pretty happy.

What happened to all this talk about getting players with a "passion" for football? Because they sure as hell didn't do that in the 2nd and 4th rounds

The only other pick besides Parker I like is McCain.

I honestly cannot see how.
Let's review...after getting Parker it doesn't seem like Tannenhickey had any sort of plan. The Phillips pick was made allegedly because BPA, but then they reach for a guard with their next pick who NOBODY considered the BPA, and neither player seems to have that "passion for football" Tannenhickey claimed they wanted. Then they completely disregard the GLARING need for a LB by drafting a RB and another WR. At least they picked up two DBs with their plethora of 5th rounders. But you're not going to build a playoff team with multiple 5ths in the draft every year and at the end of the day they came away with ONE O-lineman (who looks like he'll suck already) and NO LBs. I officially pronounce that to be unacceptable
As far as I'm concerned, the plan following the first pick was "there is no plan". Just a scattershot, half-assed approach somewhere between BPA and kinda sorta addressing needs maybe. It all went bad with the Phillips pick

BTW I also heard that Ajayi flunked most NFL teams' physicals because he apparently doesn't have an ACL in one leg and is running "bone on bone". But hey, the Fins' medical staff says he'll be fine. That's got to be reassuring, right?
RIGHT?!?!
(Begins sobbing.)

Looks like a garbage draft overall to me. What a disappointment. The only player I liked today was Ajayi, and he's slow, has serious knee concerns and a history of fumbles. Looks like a bunch of projects, role players and players that don't belong in the NFL...just like last year's draft. Get two decent prospects in rounds 1 and 2, and whiff on everything else.

Wow..I didn't know he was a fumbler on top of everything else I guess if you're going to draft a slow fumbler who may not even last one season in the league because of an already bum knee, it's better to do it in the 5th than the first or second round, right?

And the draft before that, and the draft before that, and the draft before THAT, etc.

And I don't even think Phillips is a decent prospect.
Oh well, just another dismal, desultory draft in Dolphin land. Move along, nothing to see here.

In the local paper today they were judging all the teams winners, mediocre,or losers and they labeled the Fin's draft as one of the top this year.

Re: Dolphins draft grade by round
I haven't looked at all the teams in detail yet, but at this point I think the Browns had the best draft. I liked almost every one of their picks and they got good value all around while filling a lot of needs. It's possible that their first 6 picks could become starters this season.
Re: Dolphins draft grade by round
I'm starting to downgrade this draft the more I read about the players. We draft an injured running back with bone on bone knee condition. A defensive back that hasn't played the position in two years. A guard that was viewed as a fifth or sixth round pick. A DT that has back problems and missed more games in college than he started.
We should sign La'el Collins now just incase he's proven innocent. That may be this drafts only saving grace!

You KNOW it's an all-time weak draft class when the Fins get a top grade

HA!!! PREACH IT, CC!!! TESTIFY!!!
Although Collins is NOT going to be innocent, trust me. Even if he's initially "cleared" the truth will come out a year or two after some team signs him.
