Seems like Matthews and the coaching staff have been on different pages since day one. I still like his upside, but he's never going to reach it in Miami. Doubt he has any trade value, but it's in his best interest to find a new team...he's not going to see any passes this season unless someone ahead of him gets injured.

I'd see if the 49er's would trade him for a seventh round pick. I'm sure Kap would love to team up with him again. The sad part is Omar said he was the top receiver in camp last year. Said he looked better than any of the other receivers. He goes from a good pre-season to an afterthought. I don't blame him for being pissed off. If you work your ass off for playing time and seem to have earned a starting spot but get relegated to the bench. This is a total Philbin move. If he likes you, Dallas Thomas, then you get to play even if you aren't qualified.

Yep. I still don't understand how Matthews sat on the bench last season while Hartline started week after week and did absolutely nothing. What a waste.

football is a competitive sport. the great ones prepare with the attitude that they have to fight for their spot every day - nothing is handed to you. if Matthews wants to whine and run and hide from competition...then bye, bye, cry-baby.

Matthews just wants a Job handed to him instead of Busting that Ass and earning it.

Wow, I don't think I ever saw that before. I knew Philbin and Matthews clashed, but I didn't know Matthews was late to meetings. That's not good.

Matthews always had a work-ethic issue tagging him. Some of these guys need some fuckin' perspective. Come do my job and get paid the peanuts I get for awhile and then figure out if you'd like to maybe show up to some meetings.
